Who are you voting for
In addition to the predictions and discussion thread I thought it would be interesting to see how CP compares to the actual results.
I have made the poll private so the public can't see how you voted not sure about mods.

I'm going NDP but only because I don't want the PC to win and I think the NDP has the best chance to win.

I'm voting PC.
The PC candidate in my riding will be seeking his third term. I've worked with him on a couple of key issues in recent months and he's been excellent.
The NDP platform, if implemented, will dramatically change the economic landscape in Alberta. Not only that, but the candidates they've recruited in many ridings throughout the province seem to be short on experience and qualifications.
I get that people are tired of the PCs, particularly in recent years, but the so-called "Alberta Advantage" is very real, and while I certainly wouldn't pretend that the PCs are the reason for it, I would be concerned that an NDP government would put that advantage at risk.

The PCs have been a major roadblock towards certain safety legislation in Alberta (not going too specific, but affects me both personally and professionally), the only possible group that will have a clearer path to legislation is the NDP.

I like the NDP, and if I didn't live in my riding I would probably vote for them. I, however, live in Calgary Elbow and there's a very real chance that Clark can defeat Dirks in my riding. So I'll be voting AP this election.

Not happy with Pretince and the old boys club as they represent more of the same that we've had over the years. I hope my vote for the WRP will help them form a strong opposition party to help keep the PC party in line.

NDP, I cannot in good conscience vote for PC this time because of the backroom deals to decapitate the WR. That and you also can't just blame the voters for the last decade of incompetance and mismanagement of the economy/savings, raise taxes on the lower/middle class and call an election immediately after without being punished for it. Plus... Prentice and his dealings reek of dirty politics all the way back to the time he was with Indian affairs. There are also way too many PC candidates who are arrogant and condescending for my liking.
Time to vote for someone new for me. I've had the wool pulled over my eyes enough times. NDP platform actually looks okay now, if they can keep the unions out of their policy making and can execute on their platform, things should be fine.

If AP had a candidate in my riding I think I would vote them, and actually show some support for a party. But instead I will choose to vote against the WR and go with the PC candidate who has the best chance of beating him.
Because I honestly believe the Wild Rose platform reflects a lack of economic stewardship and hard line anti-progressive social policies. Neither of with I can get behind at all.

Voters will vote for the devil they know as opposed to the devil they don't know. As much as they cry for change they don't seem to have the courage when they get to the voting booth.

I was just more surprised of the WR being mentioned. In my lackadaisical research, I thought it was a PC/NDP race, swapping between opposition and leader. More of just a drive by comment really.

Do you know what the National Energy Program was? Their platform, from an economic perspective is probably the best scenario overall for Alberta.
As for my vote.. I'm rejecting it. This election shouldn't be happening, and none of the parties have satisfied my vote requirements.

Wild Rose party just came to our door. Already voted for NDP, but good to see some door to door campaigning atleast.
But of course before he left, he made sure to get the "lower taxes" tidbit in there haha

PCs already have squandered the Alberta resource wealth over the past two decades. Why not vote for someone who might not squander it vs. someone who you know will?
Plus, NDP platform has nothing like the NEP in it. Did you even bother reading it?

The NEP is literally the only reason Albertans haven't voted for a leftist/centre-left party in the last 3 decades (unless they are racist NIMBYs or rich oil execs, in which case the PC/Wildrose groups make sense).
30 years ago people. Different party, different energy climate. Quit listening to the bogeyman stories of your parents, or if you're an old man still ranting about Trudeau, guess what? You're out of touch.

Voted Wildrose - yeah, I know you're shocked - but in this case it was more an anti-PC vote than anything else. They all suck. There is no way in hell I would vote NDP, the Liberals need to just disappear, and the Alberta Party is a one-trick pony at this point. There wasn't exactly much in the way of options.

Calgary Klein - voted Wildrose (special ballot/advanced poll).
Wildrose candidate Jeremy Nixon lost by only ~1000 votes last time. I think it will be much closer this time around.
I'm glad Wildrose stuck together when they were in shambles. In a way it was just as well, no point having people on your team who are going to cross the floor like that anyway.
Part of me wanted to vote for the Alberta Party but there was no candidate for that part in Calgary Klein.

I'm in Calgary West so there is no Alberta Party candidate in my riding.
I want the PC's out - it's just unfortunate that in my riding, the PC candidate actually seems like the best candidate.
Lucyshyn in Calgary West probably has the best chance to unseat Ellis, so I'll probably vote Wildrose. I don't think the NDP candidate in this riding has much of a chance, unfortunately.
