We trade him because he UFA in the summer and not going to re-sign.
You were asked whats it like playing with Glencross. Take your own advice and answer the question.

I hope that Washington finds the cap space to sign him to the 4 yr/ $18 mil contract that he is looking for.

Someone on the site predicted Arizona as his destination and the more I think about that, the more it makes sense to me.

What a fall from what he used to be. He could have gotten paid this summer.

Kind of a cautionary tale for players of his ilk. Get paid while you can, and for players like him, that's not usually after 30.

Should have taken the money when he had a chance.

Vermette was a healthy scratchFranson was a healthy scratch
 Santorelli was a healthy scratch.

Disappointing that Glencross was as well, but it is also apparent that he does not fit in within Trotz' systems. Still a good player in my books.

It's scary to think that if Glencross were still on the team Ferland or Bennett would most likely not be playing.

Self entitled player who didn't necessarily put the team first on the ice. Likely due to taking a pay cut and thinking he's done so much for the club.
Under performed, was never really a leader and was the last remaining part of the old core..

Glad he's gone, super happy we got what we did for him.

He would have been a liability in this round of the playoffs simply by taking up a roster spot that could very well have been the spot Ferland occupies.

Wow that's pretty aggressive.

Glencross was very inconsistent but he bled for the team and had flashes of brilliance along with a wicked snap shot. A true Alberta boy.

Made the right move in trading him and happy with the return, but I hope he finds success.

Ah, the classic Sutter strategy. Glencross was a relic of his tenure.

Glencross was awesome for this team and gave 100% every shift and was under paid...3-4 years ago. For the past couple of years he didn't do anything other than keep the team where it was near the bottom of the standings. Good person or not, he should have been gone from the team a while ago but we got a good return for him this year so that's good. I wish him well but I don't hope he finds success, I hope the Flames find success.

Yawn.... Same old story.. Bled red yada yada... I never saw it... What I did see was a lot of whining after whistles and a guy who dragged his butt and refused to go to the tough areas.

Glencross had a good season and it happened to be with the Flames.. But if he was what you want to consider as a guy who would do anything for a club, look at Fleury, Iginla, Peplinski, McDonald, Makarov, Conroy, Langkow plus many more who truly bled red for the Flames. Glencross is no where near that kind of heart. However, we have a few kids that may very well carry the torch of the previously mentioned and show us again what true heart is, if they haven't already.

You know it's very possible although they have acquired a lot of bottom 6 forwards over the past few years. Also they are getting close to the cap ceiling with the current squad and still need two top pairing defenseman and a starting goaltender.
