Probably Smid when he's healthy, but I would hope that Wotherspoon or a deadline aquisition would get a serious look.

Darren Haynes ‏@DarrenWHaynes
Last year, Giordano, Brodie, Russell and Wideman missed 68 games to injury. This season, only two games. Losing Giordano would be crushing.

Not me. If Gio's hurt it's best he heals, proactively thinking how do we survive? Russell is pretty damn good, might be a stopgap for a little while.

Detroit did decent with Lidstrom paired with Ian White. White is far inferior to Russell, maybe he can keep us afloat if Gio's out.

Now, now, no need to do that. If you want to be hurt, I'll trade you my broken neck. It's not like I am using it at the moment.

Really wish Roger Millions would stop trying to be first to report things and wait to figure things out. Too many examples to list but even with Sam Bennett in January he randomly threw out early February as a return date as a total guess.

Good host, great interviewer but really poor at reporting things at times.

The Millions tweet didn't seem very helpful... he could be moving and walking just fine and have a broken arm. If it's upper body, what does how he's walking matter?

Who would take Russell's spot with Wideman?

Don't mean to be overly negative, but he is THAT important to this team.

I love Karri Ramo. Awesome 2 games from him. He just reminds so much of kipper especially in his pos game interview.

Really wish there was a way to keep Ramo and move on from Hiller…

Ramo is only 28, Hiller 33.

With Ortio looking like a very legit NHL 'tender, one of them is all but gone after the season. Being that Ramo's deal expires after this year and Hiller's doesn't, I'd wager its him. Not sure if that's the right call or not. Both have looked really good this year and both have had some shaky games.

I don't know. He didn't come out and say he is fine. Just saying what he saw and said he was getting extra observation. Doesn't really conflict with Hartley's report.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I'll be looking into all sorts of possibilities, but the damage was just discovered a few days ago and my doctor has ordered an MRI to get a more accurate idea of what's going on. At that point I'll be working with him to figure out what might help, and what things I should avoid lest they do further damage.

Meanwhile, anybody who wants a broken neck can borrow mine; as long as they leave me my windpipe, and also my spinal cord (since neither my brain nor my body is equipped with wifi).

I do, it's poor reporting. If it was a one time thing it'd be okay but it's a continuing problem. Doesn't take an extra minute to know what exactly is being reported, just types. You unfortunately have to take a massive grain of salt with whatever he tweets, which shouldn't be the case for a full time media member following the team.

Yes, but being paired with Lidstrom, Justin Shultz would look Norris-caliber .
