What a phenomenal trade for the Jets.

Wasn't Lemieux the guy the flames were targeting to pick with their first 2nd rounder? then went goalie when he was picked right away?

the Sabres choose which pick goes to Winnipeg, so yeah, it'll be the lowest. Also save to say that both the Isles and Blues will make the playoffs, so those picks won't win the lottery.

I'm actually upset with this trade. It makes Winnipeg must stronger (addition by subtraction) and Myers on the back end with Buff is a big deal.

I actually was hoping Myers would somehow end up here...

Well, interesting. I missed all this excitement while I was at the gym.

There was a post earlier about whoever turns it around, Kane or Myers, will determine the winner of this trad which I fully agree with. Myers has Norris potential, Kane has 30-40 goal power forward potential. Stafford is crap and has been the whipping boy among Sabres fans for three years, Armia could be something. Only piece I'm not liking going the other way is Brendan Lemieux, I really liked that pick. The late 1st isn't too huge... We'll have another late 1st and will have the first pick in the second round too.

Lol at everyone who thought we'd given up our first rounder in the deal.

Green text I'm hoping. Myers + a first + Lemieux + Armia is far more valuable then a unproven prospect in Bennett.

So he's like a 6'8 Justin Schultz?

Poor Jets.

chevy makes quite the bang for his first deal, the highest first rounder makes it lopsided

Nope. Bennett may be "unproven" but potential still counts, and Bennett's potential is nothing short of elite.

The night life in Buffalo might be only slightly better than Winnipeg.

Bennett who was ranked 1st overall by central scouting

Myers who's game has fallen off a cliff and two unknowns

Bennett can only pray to be as proven a player as Armia, Lemieux and 1st round pick.

I wouldn't trade Bennett for all the late 1st and early 2nd round picks in the world.

Bennett has game breaking potential. The pieces that the Sabres gave up do not.

The only thing that Myers has proven is that he's gotten consistently worse every year since he was 19.

you can't include Myers here because Bogosian went the other way. And yeah, I value a stud center prospect higher than Armia+Lemieux+a late 1st.

But honestly, who cares about that stupid Bennett "rumour". It didn't happen and there's simply no way Treliving would have done it anyway, so why even debate it?

Not a chance in hell I'd do that trade.

What exactly does Kane offer over Backlund? Two years of age and the potential for maybe 10-15 more points?

In Backlund we have a guy who can play a shut down center role against the best players in the league, a guy who can put up points, a leader and a guy who loves playing here.

Backlunds pace: 0.58 PPG
Kanes pace: 0.59 PPG

and thats ignoring Kane's piss poor attitude.

I'll take Backlund EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
