Forgot about that one. I did however remember the pictures of him talking on his "cash phone" and doing push-ups with stacks of money on his back.
What a goof.

Kane is a 23 year old athlete making millions of dollars and flaunts it on social media. I don't know him personally so my standard for him is measured with other players in the same category. He's a dbag that has no gratitude for the blue collar worker cheering for him or the young kids that look at him as a role model. Anyone feeling sorry for Kane can stop being a sissy.

I've read all 21 pages of this thread, and haven't seen anyone being sorry for Kane yet. The most I've seen is a few posters saying that Byfuglien is also being a bit of a jerk, and pointing out that two wrongs don't make a right. Which is true enough.

Spoke with Craig Oster, agent for #NHLJets Evander Kane. Oster said Kane will have surgery in next day or two to repair the shoulder injury
Oster said the shoulder injury dates back to last season, has gotten progressively worse. After further consultation, surgery required
Oster on E Kane. "He's playing through a number of different ailments as well. Had a couple of different fractures he's worked through."
Oster on why surgery now? "The damage has worsened. The imaging they did showed progression through the tear he has. With that progression"
"With that progression comes greater risk of more damage and greater risk of it not being repaired properly, if there is greater damage."
Asked Craig Oster if by choosing surgery Evander Kane was trying to force #NHLJets to trade him: "Surgery only happens when it's required."
More from Craig Oster: "Nobody wants to have a significant surgery done with the risks that are associated with it."
Oster on Kane:"This is simply a medical issue. Nothing more, nothing less. This is a player that needs to have surgery done and is doing
Oster: "Knowing Evander, (he) will likely be back sooner than he should be or that most people would be." it"
Has Kane asked for trade? "That question has been asked a hundred different times. At the end of it, the answer always is, (Kane) is a Jet."
Oster: "Until his contract runs out or until he's traded, he's a Winnipeg Jet. He's played a lot of games for the Jets. He's played ha
Craig Oster on #NHLJets Evander Kane: "He's played through injury, he's played well and none of that is going to change."
Craig Oster: "What people (are saying) and the speculation that I've seen, that it (surgery) has some extra meaning to it is ridiculous."
"A doctor is not doing surgery unless it's required." - Craig Oster on #NHLJets Evander Kane
Craig Oster said #NHLJets team doctor Peter MacDonald is going to be the one doing the surgery on Evander Kane's left shoulder
For those asking about shoulder injury, Oster said Kane's shoulder popped out twice in game last week vs #Flyers but he kept playing

In honesty the team did it themselves. Obviously the guy didn't want to be there but they kept him, and something set him off and he is in the wrong for leaving and not playing that day but he is NOT in the wrong for getting his surgery now.

You wouldn't have the sack to play high performance team sports. You would have quit just from the hazing that goes on, let alone the practices used by teammates to correct attitude problems. Holy crap, what happened to Kane was child's play. He was lucky he didn't get left on the south side of Chicago with no wallet, coat, cellphone or money in his pocket, and told to meet the team at O'Hare. There are a lot worse things that could have happened to poor little Evander. This was nothing.
Him electing to have surgery right now is a punk ass move. Players like him have the ability to wash themselves out of a league quickly. Someone ,ay take a flyer on the kid, but if this behavior continues with his next team, he'll be KHL fodder pretty quickly. Can't wait to see Kane screw himself over. Maybe that will be a great message to young guys cut from the same cloth like Josh Ho-Sang.

Wow, his agent really has 'talking but saying nothing' down to an art form.
Yeah, of course doctors arent doing unnecessary surgeries, but it didnt have to be done now. Why wasnt it done at the end of last season if its persisted so long? Off-Season is when you want to be getting this done.

So? When the question is ‘when was the last time X happened’, and the answer is ‘a long time ago’, what's wrong with giving that answer? Hardly deserves the icon.

Lol listen to you tough guy. This is professional sports. Things should be dealt with in a professional manner and I'm sure for the most part they always are. By no means do I think Kane is the victim but at the same time none of us know the full story so I'm not going to jump to irrational conclusions. I'm sure there were many things that led up to this. Personally I hope Kane is dealt to a new team and puts it together. Maybe this is the situation that helps him sort things out. Your hate for the guy is just strange.

You're right, I don't. I do know that your comments here aren't the type that would be welcomed in a dressing room or clubhouse. It is a team game and you comply with team rules, or your teammates will correct your behaviors in the ways they can.

You are missing the whole point. He is done in Winnipeg. The players don't want him there he doesn't want to be there. He is looking out for his LONG TERM health and is getting his shoulder fixed for next.
Were long past the comply with rules, fix your behaviors blah blah. He is done in Winnipeg. Looking to the future.

Kane is an Idiot but this breaths of a player who asked for a trade a long time ago and was told to be patient while they get a good return. that return has been getting smaller every time this disgruntled goof pulls another stunt.
At some point management has to take some blame on how this was handled...they should have traded him 2 years ago when it was clear he didn't like the city.

I think you're the one missing the point. There are only 30 teams in the NHL. Players develop reputations and general managers talk. Word about guys gets around, and GMs don't want guys on their team that are going to cause them trouble or shorten their careers. Kane has proven to be a problem child. Strike one. Kane just walked away on his team in the middle of a playoff push. Strike two. He's down to his last strike. Being a dick moving forward is going to end his career. He's going to go to his next team and he's going to have to be a model citizen, or its strike three. He won't have to worry about his teammates ending him. The GM will do it.

He gets a strike because the doctors saw worsening damage in his shoulder so he is getting surgery? To be performed by the team doctor?

So you believe that the fact that he played 20 minutes a night, was going to play Tuesday until all this went down has no bearing on a sudden call to do surgery???
Ok, then. Don't know how I could rebut that

The same way Lundquist played after his throat injury and is now out for 3 weeks? Things change on a day to day basis.
His shoulder popped out twice in the last game he played.
