Well, 2 positives of 15 being so stripped. It will still be easy to get a game in NHL14 online vs, and there will be a ton on Kijiji so I'll buy a PS3 version for cheap just to get the new announcers.

I suppose the one positive is the game is actually a blast to play.
So there's that.

I agree, the gameplay is actually fun. If all you want is to play exhibition games the game is awesome.

The demo was enjoyable, but it wasn't good enough to justify everything that's wrong with the game.

PS3 isn't stripped, just PS4 and XB1.

Perhaps, but they are probably going to lose more than $10 million in sales because of this incomplete product. I'm thinking that could have spent a lot less than $10 million to finish the game if they really wanted too.

will check when i am home... i know in the past, i also would resort to offline only HUT. It appears offline tournaments are definitely out, but am curious if there are offline vs CPU.. offline seasons wouldn't make any sense if i understand it correctly.

Creation Zone had 4 options in it though, right? Create Player, Create Team, Edit Player, Edit Team. I would hazard a guess that all four are out unless they adjusted the menu in NHL 14 (didn't buy it).
It would make sense too as it seems unlikely to me that EA would have updated the Create a Player system with the new graphics set. Compare the effort you'd need to make a player as accurate as Toews and the amount of work in reintroducing the other elements of the game and I can't see it being there.

Couch co-op is still in. Online co-op is not.

hey jobo, do you know if in HUT you can play any game (tournament, season, play now vs CPU team), or has HUT gone completely online play only?

As far as I know (don't have game in hand since I don't have console yet), HUT is online only.

Saw on the official message boards that online versus is 1 player vs. 1 player. That plus stripped down Be a GM sealed it for me. I called Future Shop and cancelled my pre-order. I also cancelled Dragon Age Inquisition as it'll likely be a broken half finished mess coming from that company. Not getting any of my money this year.
If you did the E3 deal and ordered at least 4 games you can cancel your NHL 15 preorder and maintain your other pre-orders with the discounted price.

For a year where presentation is everything, they are missing a ton of stuff.
One thing that REALLY bugs me, is that when you play a Be a GM mode, you need to have a cumulative total for goals and assists when there is the highlight after the goal (for example, it should say Hudler (15) if he just scored his 15th of the year).
That's also out for this year.

Did they get more faces right this time? Or is it just a couple per team again? Which Flames players are accurate?

Can't wait for NHL 16 when EA brings back some of these modes and pumps them as "new features."

Maybe we should start making a running tally on things that actually work in the game.

Yes I don't buy the patch thing either. They have said for EASHL they want to solicit opinions and set up a panel consisting of customers to build the mode the way people want it. That tells me if it gets patched in it will simply be the exact same as previous versions.
They'd honestly have to patch about 80% of the normal game content by the looks of that list.
