Clark. Again, the role player from the 2004 team wins out.

Hrdina was a role player, albeit a good one, that has no real highlights outside of being a character and likeable guy, and a right place at the right time guy to get 3 cups.

Bourque was a stroke of genuis from Sutter, and did produce well above expectations for a couple years, on a stacked team, but was dumb as bricks. Dumb penalties, including the lamest I've seen (where he carried a broken stick for about 10 seconds, in Dallas I believe), and floating as bad as any player in the team's history when things weren't going his way.

In my opinion there are few flames ever to have been given as many opportunities as Chris Clark and to perform so little.

By default he was given 2nd line opportunities and pp duties and did nothing.

He put it together after he left Calgary, but as a Flame he was vastly overrated.

Unfortunately, it was Bourque. Loved Hrdina as an international player, but he was in the twilight of his career when he came to Calgary and was strictly a spot player here.

Yeah, it was like browna's towing the company line during Darryl Sutter's tenure as GM.

Had to go with Eaves on this list, but not even sure why except I remember him from way back in the day. It was either him or Clark.

Hislop used to sub in my Junior high now and then in PhysEd as well - almost picked him.

Hrdina I wanted to pick, but other than Ed Whalen saying his name I didn't think he was very memorable outside of a few flashy plays.

Bourque should win it based on performance, but he loses it based on having such a large percentage of the fanbase wish him gone. He was not one dimensional - the guy would score, forecheck, backcheck, play with an edge and was a very solid PK'er for a while. He just had an on/off switch (which I still think it was concussion-related). I just can't vote for someone that would often be frustrating to watch.

Probably should have went with Clark rather than Eaves.

Mike Eaves is an interesting story. He retired after the 84-85 season to become an assistant coach but due to all the injuries the team sustained during the 86 Cup run, he came out of retirement in the third round of the playoffs and actually scored a goal to help the team along.

It could have been Bourque but he proved to be to damn lazy. So Jiri but he was somewhat a floater too.
The shining moment for Bourque and the Flames had to be the Outdoor Heritage Classic.
