Get well soon, you granter of one of my favourite hockey memories of all time.
oh man, I was at the game in the bleeders and I don't remember ever being at a sporting event with that big of an emotional swing from losing and winning. Just so exciting. That hit really brought the dome back to life.
What a guy!

The guy is a machine, he hits so hard that someone tried to take him out with a car (I'm looking at you Marleau) and he's still not down. He's a warrior and will find a way to battle through this, I wish him the best and hope he can still play the game that's kept him so valuable (except against the Flames).

I was at that game where he destroyed Marleau and sparked the come back. Honestly, I have a hard time deciding which Playoff game was better for me. That game or Game 6 vs. Detroit in '04.
Both were epic. I'm so lucky that the only two playoff games I've been to have been unreal.
The air lift part likely sounds scarier than it is - likely just a transport flight from Invermere to Calgary. But "multiple broken vertebrae"? Hoping for a fast and full recovery!
Is he a UFA now? If so, this really impacts his ability to get a new contract and a paycheck this year. Really tough luck for one of my favourites.
I hate to be that guy, but Cory Sarich will be 36 in a couple weeks He was already slowing down. Now he is in the hospital with very serious injuries. I would be shocked if he plays another game.
I have always been a big Sarich fan, and he is an even better person. I wish him well.

Between Sarich and Owen Frickin' Nolan that game was ridiculous!

Spoke with someone close to Cory Sarich and the details from his accident are frightening. As badly hurt as he is, it could have been worse.

I am up and moving and may get to go home today. I am extremely blessed to be sitting here sending everyone an update.
Cory Sarich @sarchy06
Minus the five broken vertebrate and some serious road rash, I have had nothing but good news here in the hospital. No surgery, no brace.
Cory Sarich @sarchy06
Thanks to everyone for their love and support. It's amazing how many wonderful people I've met through this sport that I get to call my job!

This is a guy who demonstrated an extremely high tolerance for pain throughout his career and played through injuries. Hope he recovers to be able to live a long and pain free life.
He's earned that.

So where's the official "Change of Nickname" form to go from Sarge to Wolverine?
How often do you hear of people being airlifted to a hospital with 5 broken vertebra and road rash and then them saying a couple days later they are going home and almost making it sound like it was nothing more then a skinned knee? Just unbelievable.
