I didn't say there was no impact to us, I'm saying forming a block of poor countries and China and then only trading within each other is a hilariously bad decision.
My point to even bring it up is that US based sanctions become meaningless if the US dollar isnt the de facto currency for world trade. Simple. Then I said Russia may be flexing its muscle because it now has alternate methods to buy/sell goods DIRECTLY in their own currency or the currency of China. I speculated if this is why Russia appears to be escalating their cold war era tactics.
The rest I have no idea why you can't understand. China is the 2nd biggest economy in the world. If they want to buy/sell in their own currency from now on and abandon the dollar, the US is in SERIOUS trouble. Already Japan (3rd largest economy) and China are starting to deal directly in Yen to RMB when trading, no US middle dollar. These are not 'poor countries'
If China starts to say to Oil producing countries: " we want to buy in RMB, not USD, guess what? It will happen. Anyways that has naught to do with this thread, other than the first paragraph so lets just leave it.

Brazil, Russia, India, China (and South Africa) - BRICS - has formed this alliance since the World Bank and IMF are North American and European dominated. Its about 18% of the world economy.

You are basically isolating them. They become dependant on China for loans/financing and if China wants to up their rates (or their economy goes bust) they have no where to go.

I'm perfectly aware of the size of the Chinese economy. China sells to the US and Europe, they want to isolate themselves from those markets to align themselves to a fake strongman? Are they willing to do that for cheaper gas? I doubt it. Russia will have relief from Chinese purchases of gas, no doubt, but lets not act like cutting off trade isn't going to hammer them because they have Brazil and India now.
China is currently developing their new class of nuclear subs too, no? Trying to find the article, I believe the plan was to have a half dozen or so of their next gen subs deployable within the next few years.
they've got 5 SSBN (type 94) and I think 8 SSN (type 93) the type 93 are equivalent to the early 688 class, so they're very good boats but not premiere. They are faster and can dive nearly double the depth of the 688i submarine.
The Chinese also have 50 conventionally powered submarines including about a dozen of the very good type 39A class boat.
The Chinese Navy has worked to really expand their destroyer and frigate navy and they've handed off the Liaoning so the Chinese have started their transition from a coastal defense navy to one that can project power.
China is looking at completing a fleet of two nuclear powered aircraft carriers within the decade.

Cold war redux! Putin reached an agreement with Cuba to reopen the cold war era Lourdes Signals Intelligence base to "keep tabs on a potential enemy". What the heck is Putin thinking? In this sensitive time I really don't think he could do any worse than he is now. Was a small fire before and it just seems like now he's running around pouring gasoline on everything.
The Russians would love to lie and deny their way out of this, but with camera phones and social media they are pretty well screwed.
