And I just don't see that at all. When you count the number of amazingly astute tape-to-tape passes he makes the arrant ones would be in a very small statistic comparatively. But that speaks to my overall opinion on your take. Taking a small negative example and coming here to post it over the optimistic ones is perplexing to me. Especially when we look at how this is a flames board where the optimism is obviously going to be high.
The amount of mistakes he makes (and of course there will be some with his age and coming right from college) are far, far outweighed by his brilliant plays. It's not even close. To watch him this tournament and to come away from it with the things you're mentioning being the first items to bring up is really bizarre to me. But you're entitled to your opinion.

Yup anyone watching every game obviously sees the talent, but the areas that require improvement are also visable. Not a big deal, but silly you can't even mention that around here right now without some poster going off the deepend.

lol, there's a difference between mentioning it, and responding to positive posts with an ongoing "Yea... BUT" schtick. And again, it should go without saying that he has areas that require improvement. He's tiny, 20, and has one game in the NHL. I just don't get how you surmise that the people who are excited about him somehow don't know that.

I would say he is the best player in the tournament that has played under 2 pro hockey games in his life. Obviously he is gonna have some weaknesses against this competition...who doesn't?

I watched all his games in the tournament, every shift with focus on him.

There definitely are people on here who do have their heads in the clouds when it comes to Gaudreau. I'm sure most people realize he has a lot of potential and could be a really good player for us but still has areas to improve and needs to prove himself at the NHL level. It definitely is exciting to get to see his skill first hand though and him having the success he is having against some pretty decent competition.

He's an offensive catalyst out there and was basically running the US pp.
Also a big 'up yours' to the "oh but he'll be a defensive liability" crowd. The way he chases that opposing player down after the turn-over to recover the puck is huge... and he does that all the time. He hustles like mad on the back check and is very good with his stick. I think he's going to be fine defensively, and dynamic offensively. Oh, and of course the falling down shovel-pass in this clip is sheer brilliance. Goes without saying.
Awesome. My only question is how does Gaudreau get pronounced Goodreau? Ugh. A-U is not the same sound as O-O. I know I'm nitpicking, but I find it annoying!
