The penny situation never even crossed my mind before, like, who the hell cares? A PENNY!. He thinks I was trying to come out ahead by making him pay the extra cent. I'm going to start calling him Goldstein.
I once had a customer at Super Store return to haggle me over 27 cents. I worked in bulk foods at the time and we sold everything by weight. Occasionally we would toss whole bags from the manufacturer onto the "clearance" shelf with the price marked by weight.

So one day we had done that, tossed a bag marked 1kg onto the clearance shelf with a price marked as $X/100grams. This guy buys it, gets to the till where it's weighed and comes out to slightly more than a full kilogram, he pays, takes his candy home. Only to return the next day to complain direct to me (in bulk foods) about how the weight was more than 1kg and we had mislead him! I did the math and it this gentlemen had paid 27 cents more than an exact kilogram would have been.

Yet that 27 cents was enough to take his receipt, hop in his car, drive to the store and track down an employee to complain to.

Those little pins they put in new dress shirts. Is there not a better way to pack a shirt than to have to negotiate booby traps to open up a dress shirt. I inevitably poke myself at least once.

1. Drivers who give change to transients who walk down the line at a red light. Can we please not turn into Vancouver? Give your money to a charity organization.

2. Drivers who at a red light always stop inside of the pedestrian crossing. I see this all the time, people pretending that those lines don't even exist. I was beside this one guy yesterday going down 12th, and we hit 4-5 red lights in a row (speaking of gear grinding) and this guy was in the middle of the pedestrian crossing each and every time. And it wasn't just a foot over...he was right in the middle of it every single time.

&One time downtown on 17th a few years ago I saw a guy stop in the middle of a crosswalk, and a drunk guy just climbed up and walked over his hood

As much as I hate seeing someone's property get damaged for something so petty, I have to admit I had a good laugh at that one.

People who litter. There's nothing like being stopped at an intersection and seeing a motorist roll down their window and throw a cigarette out the window.

On the flip side, what grids my gears is pedestrians who actually think its a big inconvenience when cars are in the cross walk. Don't get me wrong I always try to respect the crossing lines, and I get it when the intersections are packed down town a car halfway in does impact pedestrian traffic flow.

But the number of times I've gotten the stink eye at an intersection with just one dude crossing who has had to take one extra step around my front end if I've decided to stop hard on a yellow rather than run the light and the guy behind me is right up on me and I can't back up, or some uncontrolled intersections DT or in the belt line where you actually have to edge forward to see around the building or lamp post or something to see the traffic and figure out when you can go is ridiculous.

It in no way caused them problems, they just wanted to complain for the sake of complaining. I've got no problem if I get looks if it were to happen in a crowed intersection and hoards of peeps are now having to walk in the middle of the road, but don't whine about it if you simply have to take one step around. I guess what I'm saying is people who get Argo out of principal rather than actual inconvenience grid my gears

Pedestrians in Calgary, as a general rule, suck. They're collectively the worst of every pedestrian trait.

They tend to be very slow, unpredictable and unsure of themselves, and at the same time they're generally very smug and easily aggravated. It's like no matter what happens, drivers are idiots in their minds, and they tend to carry themselves like vehicles don't weigh thousands of pounds with the ability to kill them instantly.

What's even worse is pedestrians who know nothing about driving. Sometimes you have to roll out onto the sidewalk to see around a building, parked cars or snowbank for oncoming traffic.

Yeah, pedestrians DO SUCK. I was at Toys R Us the other day and I got in my car, and I backed out at a snails pace (because I know there are kids around). I saw 3 vehicles coming down the lane so I stopped, with my rear end (insert crude joke) sticking out about 2 feet. This lady about 5 seconds later (after I had stopped) screamed at the top of her lungs STOP! and hugged her child... Like C'mon, give me a friggen break... You are obviously a idiot because you are probably on your phone and not paying attention to where you are bloody walking... Besides I could not see you beside that massive Escalade that was beside me... And even then, I had stopped before you yelled... Then after the vehicles had cleared the roadway, I had waited for her to walk behind me, but like that dumb moron that she was, she just stood there giving me the evil look at death. The entire 30 seconds it took me to back out she just stood there staring at me, I swear if she did not have her daughter there I would of lost it on her!!!

GRAB A FRIGGEN BRAIN WOMAN, You are not "invincible" because you are a bloody pedestrian. It is a two way street you idiot, you have to pay attention as much as the driver does.

BAH!
