I eventually went with the Wingman, I decided against something bulkier since Im going to carry this around in my pocket wherever I go and it had the essential tools I figure I'd need. I tend to lose things easily too so with it being half the price of the Wave or Surge, it made more sense to get this for now.

I know I mentioned wanting something grippy but I had a chance to get a feel for it before I bought it and it wasnt too bad since you're not holding the smooth side of the multi-tool

My wife got me a Leatherman ChargeTI many years ago. Use it almost every day that I'm working. Favourite bit is the gut-hook on the serrated blade - I guess it's meant to open up a fish but I use it to cut cable ties, and it works like a hot damn.
