It's not that you make a mistake, but three times in a row the same mistake?
And totally blatant slash and a trip not called against the Swedes, when usually a ref gives the even up call...

 Ve-ry convenient.

I am however impressed by the finnish defense and they're very dangerous when they get to the Swedish zone. Feels like 50-50 going into OT.

Umm, elbow to the head? You mean when Collberg made a turn and crashed into a Finn himself? (Into his shoulder, to be exact...)

I'm not saying the refs are consciously biased. Just sad to see two or three PPs go one way on weak calls when the game is on the line. Happens in international tournaments all the time of course.

So refs working to NHL standards then |

I think most people would agree that the internation refs are significantly worse. They're chosen based on their penis-sucking abilities rather than good judgement.

I think those without the blue-white glasses on saw the finn throw up his elbow as Collberg turned. Anyway, I think if Finland had tried to play some offensive hockey for more than the last five minutes of the game (when they looked quite good), they wouldn't have gotten so many penalties either.

Finnish commentator Tamminen, blatantly called the Swiss ref René Fasels "political pick" for the game, and says that it's "it's been like this year after year".
Sounds like there's going be some behind the scenes shouting matches after the game about the reffing, regardless of how it ends.

I'll give you that the shoulder was high (which was a rather clear reflex move against an incoming hit), but Collberg pretty clearly hit the shoulder, not the elbow.

Also, they started to play offensive, the first phantom penalty was on midice.

And that is also par for the course in international hockey. i.e.: The Punch-up in Piestany happened because an inferior referee was selected for political reasons.

Also, as a neutral observer, I'm happy with either result. Get to see the home team win, or get to see the underdog win. But please, for the love of god, don't ruin this entire tournament by having the final go to a shootout!

Offensive hockey, defensive hockey... doesn't have anything to do with crap officiating

Hah, suck it Fasel and your "let's make this a better game".
Unnecessary delay of the right result.
