The AK-47, the only gun that has ever shot down a B-52.

It's actually a story that makes the rounds in Vietnam, read about it in this book on the history of the gun:

To be fair you would not strip the weapon down like he does in the video unless you are in a controlled area. It was/is an easy weapon to field strip and clean. I never once got a face full of breakfree.....my good friend the FN gave me many.

I always liked that part in Lord of War where Nick Cage's character is talking about the AK47. Well the whole movie is good. Cept for Nick Cage... :/ Though, he's not horrible in it.
What the #### dude, merry ####ing christmas to you as well.

I am a huge firearms fan but I will never own an AK47 or Mosin.

True enough, I was just a fan of the C1 and was spoiled by it, and to be honest, when I fired it, it made me feel all manly and stuff.

You'd squeeze the trigger and each time this little voice in your head would go, "Yeah that's the stuff"

Can't say I'd ever want an AK myself but the Mosin is a great rifle. It was the one use by Vasili Zaitsev in the battle for Leningrad. Made famous in the movie "Enemy at the Gates" although I'm sure you already knew that. You can even see his rifle in the Museum there I believe.

I hope because it's Russian isn't your only reason.

Hold your fire, put down your weapon.
You'll never get to heaven with an AK47

No, it was not a huge leap. The AK-47 had its roots in Germany's STG 44 which the Soviets captured in the war.

It is improved and mechanically re-designed in a much better way, but was not some out of the blue miracle. It was another case of post WWII Soviet copying and improvement of a revolutionary concept (the first assault rifle) that the Germans pioneered. Functionally, they are the same thing - a selective fire rifle with detachable high capacity magazine firing an intermediate round.

Lol, I meant cause your YOUNGER, as it was released around 1949. IE, when you were serving it was quite a time after that.

A little sensitive? Haha.

Find that extremely hard to believe, that would be like killing an elephant with a paintball gun from 300 yards.

Exactly, but it is a story that shows what a legend that gun has become, especially in countries like Vietnam.
