Simmons isn't worth that much lol. Backlund has been playing a lot better and increased his value. I wouldn't mind Simmons but not at that price, we could get a lot more for that package of players

Love this thread but I don't have enough time to make a meaningfuly and comprehensive post.

Just wanted to point out that EVERY thread on CP is an "armchair GM thread". This is just the only one that's up front about it.

Here's my thoughts

Minor leaguer to Detroit for Tootoo. More truculance. Interesting that he was recalled in time for our game with Burke in attendance.

Backlund for Matthias. Get bigger at C which falls in line with the Burke mandate. Salaries wash out.

Cammy to nyr for JT Miller or their first + cap dump/or salary retention to make deal work . Nyr was interested in Cammy around draft time and need a big time shake up as they are outside looking in.

Stempniak to Ottawa for Eric Gryba and one of Colin Greening or Erik Condra. Need to retain part of Stemps salary to make this work for Ottawa who need to lose salary.

Baertschi to Toronto for Gardiner or NYR for Del Zotto or Fla for Kulikov

Get bigger as a result of all of these deals and Baertschi brings in a potential top pairing d that hasn't realized potential yet.

Matthias is big...but soft. Not sure why people want him. He has done jack all since his initial trade year.
