How on earth can you think Butler had a good game? Just because he was a -1 doesn 't mean he had a good game. Smid had a good game!

I take full responsibility for the non-shutout...I somehow uttered the s-word with less than 20 seconds watching the game live with my Oilers friend.

Hartley rarely change his D-tandem even if they are protecting the lead.

I'm talking about the failed attempt to get the puck out of the end by Butler. I've seen too many games where a Butler turnover has lead to a goal. He often panicks in his own when the pressure is on him and for whatever reason his thinking goes out the door and he gives away the puck.

CBC flashed a stat on the screen saying the Oilers had been shut out 3 times at home this season

Giordano was -1 too so I don't see your logic. Are you saying Gio did not have a good game? Wow...

Forget the inevitable Butler hate. Berra was screwed out of his first NHL shutout by the officials.
|
Yeah, I agree. Not to let Butler off the hook but that brutal dive by Hemsky was ridiculous, and the Oilers get away with murder a little later. It seems to be happening to the Flames a lot lately. They went a few games there recently where they had no powerplay chances despite the other team trying to chop the Flames players' heads of with their stick. I know sh***y reffing is to be expected on a regular basis but the Flames really don't need the help to be cast down to the bottom of the conference this year.

Berra still waiting to get his first win in regulation? Can't complain though -- a win is a win (especially against the Oilers) and he was less than a minute away from his first career shutout.
Not sure if it was discussed in the GT but another new mask for Berra? I thought it looked pretty good...

Okay I am not saying I don't agree with you that Butler makes a lot of mistakes since he started playing for the Flames because I've seen it... but I am talking about tonight's game. The puck came close of coming out and I agreed he made the mistake on that play but he made some plays too tonight.

Sometimes.
It's more that the Flames are on HNiC so rarely, that she doesn't appear too often.

It was almost 1-0 Oilers in the first 5 minutes because of Butler.
