Tottenham’s plans for a new home have taken a twist as the club confirmed it has appointed the architects responsible for the Olympic Stadium to come up with new designs - increasing the likelihood that the current plans for a 56,000 arena may be ditched.

Officials including Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy have worked with London-based architects KSS to produce the current designs for a new stadium, with the first set of images released in 2008.
However Standard Sport understands that Levy now wants to explore alternative designs and has turned to Populous, the company behind the Olympic Stadium, the new Wembley and the Emirates stadium, the home of rivals Arsenal - for fresh ideas.

The revelation will disappoint fans eager to see the club move into a new, larger stadium. Further delays now seem likely and club officials have yet to indicate when work will begin on the stadium, although work is close to completion on a supermarket on the development site.

Of course, it makes their next articles so much easier to write.

Has anyone else taken a look at Sunderland's opponents for their next seven matches? A bloody nightmare:

Arsenal
Liverpool
United
Newcastle
City
Chelsea
Spurs

Di Canio might very well explode.

at West Brom
vs Liverpool
vs United
at Swansea

still a nightmare.

My bad. The matches I listed are actually their next seven at home.

aaah, makes sense. Still a brutal schedule for them. Under normal circumstances, they'll lose at least 4 of their next 5, maybe even all of them. I for one wouldn't shed a tear if di Canio's gone.

I'll admit to being a little concerned about Norwich's final four matches of the season. If they need points to avoid relegation, they had better get them before this finale: Liverpool (H), Man Utd (A), Chelsea (A), Arsenal(H).

I would be shocked if Norwich had to fight until the end ... IMO they had a sensational summer. I would expect them to be around 10 ... just my two cents

Just guarding myself against over-optimism! I agree, they did some great business over the summer. Hughton's tendency to set up defensively, plus their limp to the finish last season, still concerns me a little.

But I would hope that with the addition of so many attacking-minded additions like Hooper, Van Wolkswinkel, Redmond, Fer, and Elmander, surely he's got to go for it every now and then?

really looking forward to United vs Crystal Palace tomorrow ... hate those long international breaks with the first CL game vs Sociedad coming up, I'd like to see something like this tomorrow:

----------------------De Gea----------------------

Fabio-----------Evans--------Smalling---------Evra

--------------Fellaini----------Carrick--------------

Zaha-----------------Kagawa-----------------Nani

--------------------van Persie--------------------

Initially I was thinking Carrick would finally get a rest, and Anderson would slot in.

But, I digress.. I think Moyes will want Fellaini & Carrick building as much chemistry as possibly before the first CL game.

I think RVP might take a rest, in place of Welbeck, who will be subbed at the 60th for Hernandez.
