I liked PL when he did the TV PBP, but I really got to understand his passion for the game and his knowledge at the Junior Level during his time subbing in on the fan.
the mock draft that the fan did in late june where the 3 guys drafted and debated was an awesome show to me. I really understood PL's passion for the game as he knew so many little things about the players.
I think that PL will blow away the typical PBP that we get on CBC. I doubt strongly that PL will resort to "he's from Bonavista Newfoundland" more than as an intro...whereas it should be a drinking game with the CBC coverage.

Dude when it comes to the Canucks, it could be a team of Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Augusto Pinochet, Josef Stalin and Kim Jong Il and if one of them scores against the Canucks you take it.
I honestly don't know of a guy in media that loves the game of hockey as much as Loubardias and I doubt you'd find someone more knowledgable about the game and especially about prospects.

On a side note. Man, that 08-09 Flames team could have done some damage if it wasn't for so many injuries.
Agreed. Polorizing player, but this team has seriously missed the hands and puck possesion of a guy like Bertuzzi, and there are some good Loubardias calls here...
@Sportsnet960: Beginning with this 2013-14 season, Peter Loubardias joins Peter Maher on #Flames Radio broadcasts as colour commentator.

No brainer, great choice. Lou has a great knowledge of young players and up and coming players and lets be honest that's what the Flames have. When Lou lost his position with SN doing play by play he handled it with all class. My level of respect went to a whole new level for Lou when he lost his dream job to Rob Kerr and then less than 2 weeks later has the professionalism to sit and fill in and do the Big Show with that same Rob Kerr. It's like losing your wife to another man and then having to hang out with that same guy all afternoon for 2 weeks. Some kind of guy that Lou!

Great news, big fan of Loubo but i would rather he replace Kerr on SN.
I like Kerr's passion for the Flames as play by play broadcast, but Loubo was very less ear piercing and just a much smoother delivery.
Kerr has good intentions but just comes off quite often spastic.
Regardless Loubo will bring his personalty to the radio like he always does.
Congrats on the new gig Loubo!
