That Alex Plante pick was a head scratcher at the time, not any better in retrospect.

2 year 5 million dollar deal would be in my ballpark. Although I can see it going as high as 2 year 7 million. Tons of cap space to use in the short term.

Also, in the Hopes that the Flames actually peruse this site, please find a way to get Nick Leddy.

Surprised to hear about Teubert. Wasn't he a highly touted prospect with LA? And now he's so bad he can't even crack the Oilers. What happened?

Looks like the Leafs are buying out Mike Komisarek, anyone know whatever happened to this guy?

He is a former 7th overall pick and an All Star but his career seems to have fallen off a cliff once he signed with the Leafs. Just looking now it appears like he's had a bunch of injuries too, maybe that's it.

Ijuries are the biggest part. The other part is he signed with the Leafs for a big dollar contract. Not going to win any friends in T.O if you don't play like the second coming of Larry Murphy @ 4 million + a year.

I wonder what will happen with Chris Stewart. I know he was qualified, but wonder if STL can afford him......

Mueller, Skille and Blum all have my interest peaked.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Stewart was one of the players Feaster was speaking of when he said they had a chance to move one of their 1sts for established players who were good, but only a year or two away from being UFA.

I've been to games down there...I can't imagine why they are on such a tight budget?

Spoiler!

Oh I know. I bet if they could ice a 30 million dollar team they would.

And from what I have read its an amazing facility. I actually posted a cool story a couple months ago about the life of a season ticket holder for the Panthers.

It's really quite nice, and they've done a lot of work to make it extremely kid friendly...I just don't know why people don't show up.

OH wait, years and years and years of terrible terrible terrible hockey.

Unlike some of you, I think RW Damien Brunner would be a fantastic UFA pickup. 27 years old and great skill.

Maybe Sven could entice him to come, but I'm not holding my breath.

Rob Scuderi is the guy who I want the Oilers to sign. Complete character guy and a solid defensive defenseman.

Was very good in Montreal, had a battle with Lucic in the playoffs, got him with a couple good hits, Lucic is a dumb troglodyte and pummeled his face in for it. Komisarek was never the same after that.

wasn't sure where to ask this. What is the '13-'14 Salary Cap floor? How far below it are we?

Has a decade of being a "contender for the playoffs" without actually being good enough to do anything while there, not taught you anything?

Not to single you out, but it ceases to amaze me how many people keep wanting to go after these old guys still whenever they come up. We need to build a contender for the Stanley Cup, not the playoffs. There's no short term fix here.

I actually wouldn't mind him here for a year either... but everyone would jump on Feaster for the "Post Apex" thing.

the floor is $44 million.

The Flames are at $42 million if Kiprusoff retires and still need to sign Backlund, Ramo, Knight, Butler, Cundari, Brodie so the Flames will easily make the cap floor.

~11-13 million from those players is my guess. So still above the floor even if Cammalleri is traded at full salary as well.
