Max looked great last night. I am excited to have him on the team. He had tons of scoring chances and just competes so hard. Awesome.

Where is everyone that was saying he was having a horrible year earlier in the year when he was playing a shut down role on a low scoring team in Abbosford.
Love that Max scored his first NHL goal tonight. Congrats.

The kids got deceptive upper body strength, his puck battles are great to see.

Which minors? Aside from an adjustment to the pro level games, he has looked really strong in his career.
The CHL he looked great after being drafted. He looked like a leader on the CHL ice when he was asked to. During Kootenay's run in 2010-2011, he was a huge reason for their run. Behind Lieuwen, an older goalie, McNabb, who's always been considered a huge part of their team (and is nipping at a position in Buffalo. I swear he'd be there to take Leopold's spot if he wasn't injured), and Eakin, another player showing NHL potential, he was probably one of the biggest reasons they made it so far. McNabb and Eakin left after, which left a massive hole in the roster. But to Reinhart's credit, basically he, his brother, and Lieuwen carried the team to the 8th spot in the WHL. I say all things considered, he did a good job at the CHL level for a 3rd ranked pick.
The AHL was an adjustment. The stats show that there has been a recent upturn in his offensive abilities. PMM seemed to absolutely love him. Maybe it was just he was PMM's favourite or he plays the type of game he likes, but there was a lot of gushing over him in the Backburner forum. I don't get the feeling he was merely a "meh" player there either. Just one that needed to learn the ropes and was willing to learn.

Don't get your panties in a knot, his AHL stats are "meh" compared to what I've seen in him so far on the big club, looks dangerous and makes great plays almost every shift. All I mean is he plays far better with NHL players than AHL players...it happens.

I wasn't upset at all. I was just wondering what you meant by that.
I agree that if you're reading his ability to play from the stats alone before he joined the Flames, he's been a major surprise.

Lance Bouma was decent in the AHL and very strong in the NHL, too.

Ok, I change my mind. Reinhart is ready for full-time 3rd line minutes next season.
Hopefully Feaster doesn't sign a bunch of UFAs and they are forced to send down guys like Reinhart.

After watching him live against Phoenix and against the Oilers last night Max is a better player than my first impression.
It would be nice if he tucked in his jersey.

I remember when Erik Estrada went on a huge rant about not taking Kabanov.

I didn't trash the Flames but I was a little disappointed but at the time when our cupboards were barren I wanted the Flames to take a high risk/high reward type of player with a 3rd round pick. But I am glad to be proven wrong, Max Power is a gamer.

They were explaining reasons for that on the radio last night. It's because of the superior players, he's playing with, that have better positioning, and offer continuous advise to help improve his game. I think also the increased motivation to succeed.

I agree, he does look ready. Still, I have seen prospects take a step back when they come to camp. Further, we all need to realize that we need to have 1-2 of these guys in the AHL to be called up for injuries. Might be Reinhart, might be Horak, might be Bouma, might be ?.
So actually I do hope we sign a UFA or 2 or bring someone in via trade. That said I think Tanguay needs to be moved out and maybe Stajan. I see Cammy being moved at the deadline next year to make another spot for a young player and freeing up his $6 mil. If I were Feaster I'd target Clarkson for the 3rd line. I might also target Bozak and he and Backlund can center the top 2 lines. That move would depend on who I drafted (were I the GM) and if I think they are ready.
