Some sources are saying up to 400 people injured now.
CBC saying more than 500.

It is incredible that it is completely unrelated to the big asteroid that is passing by the Earth today at less than a distance than our weather satellites. What a coincidence... or is it???

I don't think it's a coincidence.
I recall back in the late 90s, a meteor flew close to Earth and it was forecasted ahead of time by scientists, but they ended up identifying a few smaller stragglers that were close to it and in almost the same orbit.
I have no other evidence than that and am too lazy to research it, but I'm thinking that as asteroids whip around the solar system, they occasionally bang into things and fragment.

I'm pretty sure that's a translation error and that they brought out the ER Large Laser array for this job.

I saw the word starting to get out on Twitter late last night. My first thought was "good thing it happened there because it will have been captured on thousands of dash cams!"
Really cool to see. Hopefully the injuries are all only minor.

Hey, the missus and I were getting it on at the time that was happening. Valentine's Day and all. Coincidence? I think not.

Godless Communist thanks Him for His Mercy
“Thank God no large objects fell in populated areas; however there were still people who were injured,” President Vladimir Putin said. “We need to think about how to help people — not just to think about it but do it immediately.”
