My sympathy for these protesters which was a bit thin admittedly is fading to zero.

So your sympathy has gone down so far that you suggest having semi's drive through the roadblocks killing people. Even in a joking way that's not funny and you're an a$$hat.

Yep, it's pretty messed up to make a statement that is pretty much 100% correct. Do yourself a favor and take a look at how dissident behavior was handled in the Soviet bloc.

did you actually read the post by the Idle No More Person, and understand the context of it?
East Germany was no workers paradise, low wages, prison labour for political dissidents.
Executions for political dissidents, shooting someone for trying to climb a fence.
So if someone is going to bleat about the low price of consumer goods in East Germany during the cold war then he has to take into account the whole picture.
But congrats, you're cool because you jumped all over me.
Way to go sport

No No, not you... the other guy. I edited my post for clarity. I thanked his post because he had to be trolling.

I took his post as referring to the other posters' "selective" quoting.
It wasn't a slam against you.... at least that's why I thanked it.

I'm relatively certain you were being defended with that post. I think the point was that your sentence was cut and then used against you without the entire point for context (ala the Sun).

How do these people get time off work to go stand on roads etc all day to protest and disrupt the economy? Do they use holiday time or do they get free time off for protesting. This has been going on for awhile now.

I was responding to the earlier posts that talked about Oil Field workers and other people not being diplomatic individuals, and as the level of frustration increasing where the possibility of the statements that I was making coming to reality.
/I was not condoning or endorsing a plan of action that involved ramming trains and semi's through people.
Glad to see that you have such a low opinion of me as a human being.
Go Team, maybe more green

Its going to get ugly because its coming across as a protest for protests sake, its right out of the occupyer handbook.
the feeling of the run of the mill Canadians is that a lot of the problems are internally created by the FN, and they're lashing out at the wrong people.
the smart move would be to divert traffic to the side roads around the blockade in this case and let the protest burn itself out.
But Canadian's are going to want to see action on this, if there isn't then there is going to be an accusation of a racial double standard.
How long til more fringe groups like the White Supremists pick up on this and start doing similar things

Good luck with that. I wouldn't be surprised if more people side against INM just out of spite.

Depends. When was the last time there was a native protest in Vancouver?
And Bruneau's words are wise, but the truth is, I doubt Idle No More has much sympathy at all to begin with. So far they seem to be a more annoying and more disruptive version of the Occupy crowd, and I'm not seeing much to indicate they will be any more successful.
