Thrashers Playoff preview vs the Sabres

VS Thrashers round 1 - 2005/2006 CPHL Stanley Cup preview!

Vs the Buffalo Sabres led by GM Mike Innes aka looooob

Team 1 (Thrashers) vs Team 8 (Sabres)

Thrashers played the Sabres twice during the 2005/2006 season, outscoring the Sabres by a 10-3 margin.
Bill Guerin was the best player on either team with 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points. Unfortunately, Guerin “might” be on the shelf for the first game or two with an eye injury. The Thrashers are hoping he heals quickly and will be ready for Game 1 drop of the puck. All other Thrashers are healthy and raring to play!

Yeah who wants to see Cheese win? But his team is too strong for the Sabres and this one. Similar to my matchup with the Jackets last year I predict he struggles a bit getting through this one in 6.

Sabres shock Thrashers taking a 2-0 series lead but the Cheese rolls over them anyways in 6.

Ouch.... bad draw for the Sabres.
 Giguere are you ready.

The Trash are a very strong team with very little flaws if any.

Upsets are going to happen, I just do not see it happen here.

 Prediction: Trash in 5

SABRES GET READY FOR ROUND ONE
Hockey gods and computer gods conspire against them

The Buffalo Sabres are thrilled to return to the playoffs after a one year absence. This is the Sabres third trip to the postseason in four years. However it comes at a price as they face the allworld Atlanta Thrashers. The Sabres are a weakened club, with the Palffy retirement, the Daze injury woes, trading pending UFAs Smolinski and Gerber at the deadline and backup goalie Sandford out for the season. Forward Mike Leclerc is also day to day.

In addition the Sabres GM is having home computer woes and can't work the roster files, he's also heading out of town...meaning he is trusting his lines to the SIM gods.

All of this adds up to a possible blowout of a series, but the Sabres will vow to do their best....and they do have a secret weapon

THE ELIMINATOR: MARTIN GELINAS

We all know he eats Division champions for breakfast.
