Still some odd behaviors compared to the iphone 4. Will watch for a firmware upgrade.

Funny we are talking cases. My buddy pointed this out to me:
http://www.blueshop.ca/incipio-feath...123A12425A.htm

I bought a pair of them; as the price and size was right.

Then of course I went to show somebody something, dropped my phone. Off my desk, then I caught a corner of it with my shoe. (Enough to make it spin; not really slow it down much.) It was the worst drop I have ever had in 13 years of owning a cell phone; and on the only phone that wasn't dated technology when I got it.

My iPhone was OK. Not a scratch. I'm actually impressed at how well it held up. However I think I will still try the case.

Siri is OK. The new maps app is actually OK. Siri + Maps is awesome! Driving my daughter home from gym in a different neighbourhood she wants to go to Staples. I ask Siri "directions to nearest Staples" and she starts speaking directions. The only thing I'm missing is voice activation.

I would recommend this case as well:

http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/app...ir-series.html

Bought the version for iPhone 3 and 4, and this company makes a very minimalistic / low profile case that adds little to no bulk and protects from scratching and minor drops.

Checked out the iPhone 5 today at the Apple store, dare I say it's "too light" to the point of feeling "cheap"? Think of car manufacturers giving the doors a good "thump" when you close it and you'll know what I'm getting at.

I'm sure it's a well made, durable and solid phone, but it lacks that tactical feel of being solid in your hand. Yes, it's a surface level nit-picky point and probably won't effect sales at all, but personally I prefer the hunk if glass & chrome that makes up the 4S.

Weird - we discussed this at a team lunch meeting yesterday, and you aren't the only one with that sentiment.

That's my first feeling too, it's weird that we equate density with quality.

I felt that way too when I first got mine. The more I've played with it, the more I see how well it is built. Still not used to the weight but it really is a sweet looking phone.

Tim Cook apologizes for Apple Maps. I'm irritated they apologized. I've been using it with great success, and to me it brings up the saying, "everything is amazing, and nobody's happy."

To our customers,

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

Tim Cook
Apple’s CEO

I don't really care if they apologize or not, but it's pretty lame to call something the "worlds most advanced mobile operating system" when it has gotten worse in a couple aspects with the most recent update. I don't really care about the reasoning behind it either because as a consumer it doesn't matter because my experience has gotten worse. It's not that big of a deal to me, but I did need to use it last weekend when out of town and it was useless, had to use google.

Meh, it's the entitlement fanboy society we live in.

They do nothing and anti-apple fanboys cry foul and claim that the company is doomed(tm). They do this and anti-apple fanboys point & mock and claim that the company is doomed(tm).

I agree, aside from maps and some inconsistencies with the design between apps, I think iOS6 is great.

They removed the baked in Youtube app. I know there is a Youtube app in the store, but it's a small thing that certainly didn't make my phone better. This is a dumb small thing but the top bar (task bar?) changes to different colours now and it doesn't seem to me that there is an ascetic flow/reason it to at all.

I agree overall it has been getting better but I am worried about the slow pace. Plus as an iPhone 4 user the update was barely anything.

I disagree. The baked in Youtube app lacked. I think moving it to the App Store was better for the app long term, as Google will actually update it.

What was it lacking? It seemed fine to me.
