Champ Bailey and Tracy Porter are both below average CBs in the NFL today.

Well he said "Not above avg.", but even that is wrong. CBs are a strength for Denver. Moon likes football, but he doesn't understand what he sees when he watches it.

You tend to see lots of touchbacks and long field goals in Denver due to the high elevation.

Glory Days:

The Browns won the AAFC championship in all four years of its existence, including the AAFC's only perfect season in 1948, and continued to succeed after moving to the NFL in 1950. Cleveland won the league championship in its first NFL season, followed by two more in 1954 and 1955. By then, the team had appeared in 10 straight championship games and won seven.[3] The Browns were NFL champions again in 1964, but have since been only moderately successful, reaching the league's playoffs 15 times and appearing in the AFC championship game three times.

My favourite line from a fellow Browns fan I read: Weeden looked terrible the first half, then proved he is terrible the second half. Watching RGIII was the icing on the cake for the first week. I know, only one game - but fer cris'sake, how many Couch's and Quinn's is this team going to draft?

I'm down a point with Gates and D.Moore left and my opponent has Baltimore D and Janokowski. I'm pretty confident for a week 1 W.

I said they should have moved the Sun and the Moon to get RGIII. Weeden will get more time (Manning's first game was not very good either), but it looks like CLE will have to keep drafting until they hit the jackpot.

Who drafts a 29 year old rookie QB though? That in the first round. My buddy who's a Browns fan even he can't stop laughing. Better start him right away, retirement is only an year away.

That defence is something else though, if only they can find a decent QB.

The fact that the Browns have gone through QB after QB and their fortunes haven't really changed leads me to think the issue is NOT with the QB. Start looking elsewhere for the problem. With a starting RB who carried 19 times for 39 yards, that sounds like poor line play. And if you don't have a running game then the secondary are free to blanket the receivers which will make it tough on any QB, especially a rookie.

Using up a draft pick on a QB in the top few rounds year after year just means you miss out on impact players in other positions of need.

Fix the run, then you will have a chance to see what you have at QB.

Maybe I just watched him too much in college and not nearly enough at the pro level, but I'm still surprised they gave up on Colt McCoy so quickly. The guy's had 0 weapons around him since he came into the league, what did you expect him to do? He can't have a worse future than a 29 year old Weeden, can he?

I think they should've put more weapons around him & allowed Colt to develop, no-one has any patience anymore.

I'm telling you once the Browns couldn't get RGIII they chose to go all in on getting Matt Barkley, who many people believe will be better than RGIII as a QB. Drafting Brandon Weeden will certainly help ensure them the best chance to get Barkley.

I was thinking Arizona was going to have a shot at Barkley, but now I have a feeling they will bumble their way to too many wins.

If that were true why would they have wasted a 22nd over pick on Weeden? Trade it away for picks next year so they would have more ammo in the next draft. There is no need to sabotage themselves.

Yeah if this is true Holmgren needs to be fired immediately. Why draft a qb in the first round then? Why not a position of need otherwise? Drafting a defensive player isn't going to give you any worse of a chance to getting the 1st overall.

Especially with DeCastro still on the board, which helps towards your other thoughts on the run game.

After this weekend I am upping my Jets prediction, previously I thought they could be anywhere from 4-12 to 11-5. Now I am changing that to 7-9 and 11-5. Looks like Sparano and Rex were hiding the Jets offense from us all preseason as Tebow barely saw the field and Sanchez really aired it out more than I thought he would.

What a huge blow for Atlanta as their best corner Brent Grimes is done for the year with an Achilles injury. Wishing him nothing but a speedy recovery.

Grimes is criminally underrated. They'd better hope Samuel steps up big for them.
