Had the pleasure of meeting CC in person very recently. Great guy and I wish him the best of luck doing whatever it is you do besides Calgarypuck.

What's with the bye bye thread? Is this the way it used to be done back when people had manners? Nowadays people just take sabbatical and let the people who give a crap wonder where they went. That's how it's done, son.

I'm sick today, and haven't eaten yet, so I'd like to announce to the CP community that I will be leaving CP for the next half hour or so, while I go make something to eat.

It was a decision I reached after much thought and deliberation, but after being on here for the last 20 minutes or so, it became painfully clear that I needed a break from CP, to fill my stomach.

In the words of another notorious poster, its time to step back and rip the bandage off and log out of this great world.

Whenever I read threads like this I always hear End of the Road by Boyz 2 Men playing in the background of my mind.

I often wonder when users leave CP for an extended period of time, if they're off serving a prison sentence. They don't get internet access in prison do they?

Yeah, but you didn't say you were leaving so a lot of us honestly assumed you must have died.

I honestly would have never thought to announce my departure, seems desperate.

Cofred crew and a CP hockey pool I'm in knew I was kicking around so didn't even think about it. However I gotta admit I just stopped posting more than anything else, I still replied to PMs and such because of the CofRed thing.

I left for a year too (roughly) but I didn't announce it, it just.. happened. It was a big move back to Calgary, at the time I had to give my work phone back to my old job so in the meantime I had bought a really crappy phone. I didn't have an internet connection for a couple weeks in Calgary and.. it just happened. I didn't log back in for the longest time. When I finally signed back in the comments and Pm's were hilarious though.

I suggest doing it for just that reason.

I was gone for the longest time too when I moved to Manitoba 2 years ago.

No big deal.

I know we've had our differences and we've both made mistakes. But sometimes a break is a good idea. I've done it myself.

If you haven't got it before you left, my PM will be waiting for you in 6 months. Peace man. I think you'll really enjoy it after the first 2 or 3 weeks.

Here's how you really leave. Log into your account, change your email address to something non-sensible. Then change your password to something you have no hope of remembering. I find it too easy to log back in and start yacking away at some post that really upsets me.

Thanks for taking the initiative Captain, time to join you on the other side.

I walked away in Feb a few years ago. IIRC I was gone for 7 months and didn't return until August. Flameswin thought I had died
