The jokes on you mate - My Mariners beat the Yankees last night and ended their 17-game losing streak. Next stop - World Series!

(Have a great time)

That's probably because it's technically not a stat holiday in Alberta - but most companies give it as a day off anyhow. The company I worked with right after university gave us a choice of the August long weekend or Family Day, but they were notoriously stingy.

I removed the linoleum from our basement floor. I recommend the electric scraper they rent at Roger's Rent All... and even that couldn't get all of the crap up. This was on concrete though.

I feel sorry for you. I hope there isn't a lot.

it's even more fun when there's asbestos involved. you know you're taking years off your life while you scrape away.

At least there's no asbestos (house is a 1998). . . . just lots and lots of glue and staples permeating the wood.

Just replaced a screen on a screen door--you know, because I'm a super-handyman. #gettinglaidtonight

Seriously, done my chores for the long weekend.

This is a good weekend to check out the Okotoks Dawgs. They won thier division tonight and host the Lethbridge Bulls in games 1 & 2 of the first round playoffs. First game is Saturday night at 7:05 and Sunday afternoon at 2:05. With the temps being in the mid 20's this weekend it's a great weekend for baseball.

Tickets are real cheap with $10 getting you any seat in the stadium and $5.00 to sit in the berm. Great atmosphere to watch ball and have a few cold beers.

Having just moved from Calgary to Kelowna, I just drove back today to pick up some more stuff and tie up some loose ends here in the city still.

While everyone and their dog goes to the Okanagan for the August long, not too many people go the other way. Was pretty funny to see the highway traffic headed towards me while the eastbound lane was pretty much bare and wide open (well other than the construction, yeesh).

I've got 4 games of ball tonight, followed by beers.

Ribfest here in London for some eats tomorrow, more beers.

Taking my son and nephew to see either Transformers or Captain America on Sunday, followed by beers with buddies.

BBQ with friends on Monday, more beer.

Pretty low key, going to be nice!

Whatever you do, do not see Captain America.

I haven't seen Transformers 3, but there's no way it can be nearly as bad. Captain America might be the worst movie I've ever seen.
