If only Max Pacioretty had died, Chara would have gotten into much bigger trouble!

Is that the same racist fat white kid with the tall skateboarding brother I gave a bloody nose to in grade 6? He used to make fun of fobby kids clothes a lot before and on the bus ride home.
Never bothered me again after that punch... tho his big brother did threaten to beat me up after

I think the damage to the people involved in this scene was done long before it took place. There's not really an alternative for the fat kid here if he wants to stop the ridicule. It's gone too far. Neither of them are probably receiving great parenting. Ideally, the small kid would have been raised not to be a complete jack ass and the big kid would have been raised in a way that would allow him to walk away with his confidence. As it is, the big kid sort of needs to do something to reestablish his dignity and gain some confidence.
I've been in his shoes, moving from Calgary to Las Vegas was hard on me as I was far more sheltered than any other kid in my class. I just sort of took it and had to learn on my own to stand up for myself after a lot of years of bullying.

Damn that bodyslam was sick. But those feeling vindicated and glee? Are there a lot of fatties that got bullied when they were younger here or something?
The scrawny kid is a loser but its just weird to see so many here feel vindicated, of all reactions.

I've done nothing but participate in a discussion on a poster board, and I answered his question several times.
If you re-read the thread, you and your buddy continually baited me because I didn't share your point of view.
(I don't think 'bemean' is a word, I think you mean 'berate?')
If that's what you meant, I didn't mean to berate either of you. However, ironically, I felt I was just 'defending' myself.

I get that people like to see a big mouth get fed, a little kid (8 years old) gets body slammed into cement ground and a bunch of adults cheer and feel vindicated? Am I the only one that see's something wrong here?
(Again, I get that the scrawny kid was a prick and I don't blame the fat kid or anything, but its just really weird, and disturbing, to see adults cheering on a 8 year old getting body slammed into cement.)

TMZ spoke with a family member of one of the kids ... who told us the bully was suspended for twenty-one days following the incident and the kid being bullied was suspended for 4 -- since he was violent as well.
|
Punish both to communicate a general anti-violence message to the rest of the kids, but make sure the instigator and bully gets a much heftier punishment to clearly imply that he was at fault. Sounds pretty fair to me.

It's not that you have a different point of view, it's that your posts seem like you're hiding your opinion that he should have turned the other cheek. Doesn't matter what your stance is, it's that you seem to be hiding something you think might be unpopular. I actually really like your posts and so I say throw down!

How does no injury = potentially lethal force? SK was not injured.
Punches to the head have killed people, so I guess SK used potentially lethal force as well.
So when a bullied kid says "bugger off" to a bully, do you honestly believe the bully will proceed to bugger off? I think four things could happen:
1. The bullying will cease.
2. Nothing will happen, the bullying will not get worse or better.
3. The bully will increase his bullying.
4. The bully will decrease his bullying.
If you think saying "bugger off" to a bully will lead to either Option 1 or Option 4, you're out to lunch. That is clueless advice to give to somebody being bullied.

Potentially lethal force? He dropped a skinny little idiot on his face. Don't kids fall out of trees, off their bicycles, etc. all the time and land on their heads? The worst he was going to get was a broken nose/teeth, which would have been what he deserved.
This seems to be a case of some people thinking the act was much worse that it actually was, based on a set of hypothetical "what ifs."

I saw one lippy punk 12 yo kid get taken down by another 12 yo kid who was sick of being picked on by the first one. Get what you deserve, amigo. I am not 'cheering on' either, but I do like seeing someone come quickly face to face with the consequences of his actions.
