woah, haven't heard anything that detailed yet from the announcers. way cool.
This game continues to be on ultra-high rotation for me, too. So much fun. I started a season as the Jays, have played 6 games myself (I'm 3-3 in those) and have simmed the rest to catch up with the real life schedule. It's so sweet playing games the same day the pros are, even with a lot of the same pitching match-ups (but only until injuries start cropping up). Miss a day? Sim to catch up.
I feel like I'm okay at the game, but my inconsistency is at times maddening. I guess that's the mental part about sports that takes getting used to - even the best ever fail a lot (Pujols' batting average, Gretzky's shooting %, Jordan's shooting %... they all suggest significant "failure"). In my second game of the season, I threw 3 perfect innings with Marcum vs. the Orioles. They broke up my gem with an ugly blooper over the infield. After that, it went downhill. Big time.
I was out of timing throwing out of the stretch, which led to a 4 pitch walk. I over-compensated against the next hitter, leave a meatball in his wheelhouse which he crushed. I eventually got out of that inning after giving up 3 more runs and stranding two. Things got even worse in the next two innings, as reliever after reliever couldn't stop the bleeding. Fast forward to the 7th inning stretch and I'm down 17-0. I somehow got out of my funk and threw a perfect 7 & 8, but couldn't muster a single run for myself. That game really hurt. Fortunately, Marcum's pitched well for me since then.
My most recent game was a mostly dominant 5-2 victory over the Rays. It's odd how different each game is, and how uncertain pitching can be from game to game.

I have heard this in Chicago too, naming extra stops on the red and blue line sub-way/train system that are correct.

Good on you playing out the blow-out, I lost with the Braves to the Cubs 22-4 in a game where the Cubs hit 11 HR, breaking the Jays record. I was a little saddened that there was no mention of that. Lee had 4HR which made him the 13th player to do so (if The Show were real) and no mention of that either.

If someone hit 2 homers off of me I throw at his head. Then get ejected...

Man, I am loving this variety of games that you get. Played a Braves - Padres game that started off as a pitcher's dual for three innings and ended up a 13-9 see-saw, nailbiter where I scored 4 in the top of the 9th to win!!!
Same day in my franchise I play the Jays' game and it was an 11 inning 1-0 win, where I loaded the bases with none out in the 9th and couldn't score, did the same in the 11th and got a bloop 1 out single from VW for the win!!!

yesterday the damn Jays had me down by 6 going into the bottom of the 10th. Nothing like a walk off from Arod to make it all feel good.

no... I meant to say I was down by 6 going to the 9th and won it with a walk off in the 10th.

I keep bumping this thread, but this game has given me so many hours of entertainment.
Nothing really amazing has happened since my last post, some close games, one nailbiting fun game and one last night that was interesting.
My first 6 batters scored, then Pineiro got the next 8 guys out in a row. They made it 6-4 before I went up 7-4 and eventually won 9-5. It was costly though as Travis Snider was trying to bust up a double play in the 8th inning and ended up tearing his ACL, out 6 months. Doh! He was leading the AL in average. My team batting average is around .280, he was hitting around .500 13 games into the season.
Jermaine Dye has been signed to take his place. My Jays are 11 - 2 and currently on an 8 game winnign streak.
I also play as the Braves in this and am only 6-5 with them, Jason Heyward is hitting an unacceptable .170 or so. I play SS and lead the NL in HR and Escobar has a top 5 average while playing 2B, but my team ERA is over 6.00 and the bullpne is junk. I have sent guys down, signed Joe Biemel who currently has an infinity ERA letting in all 5 batter she has faced since signing. I am working on a trade with the White Sox where I send them a reliever and two A prospects for Thornton and Putz.

I really wish they would let you charge the mound. I got hammered by a pitcher because I crushed back to back Homers off of him.
Then When I'm pitching the first batter I see I throw a 99 mph fast ball at him and I get booted. F that!

It's fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though, to be fair, it's not perfect. I had my second really significant 'glitch' earlier this week. Right after I hit Wells' 200th career ring-a-ding-dong-dandy in my Jays season, the game completely froze during the first replay (while zooming in and panning across the left field fence). The current music track continued playing, but all the controls went dead (including the "PS" button) and the picture would not budge. All I could do was reboot the entire system.
On a more minor note, I've noticed basemen hesitate to tag a runner sliding into their base on a close play at a bag multiple times now. It seems incredibly arbitrary and random, and has happened maybe 5% of the time (4 instances of hesitation out of 80 total close plays at a base). 3 of the times it was my player, once it was a computer player. 1 of the 3 times it happened to my player, the tag was still applied soon enough to record an out. Anyone else experience anything similar?
[btw, I have all the newest updates for the game and the PS3]
Other than those items, the game is pretty excellent.

I'm tired of getting the steal with a breaking ball in the dirt but yet this catcher has a 50mm cannon and some how throws the ball when I'm 3 steps from the bag and still gets me....
Nothing like a suicide squeeze with 2 strikes and 2 outs and working! Love that.

Well, I had won 10 in a row with the Jays but then got 4 hit by the Royals and lost 4-3...then I got 3 hit by the Rays and lost 8-1. Just when I thought the Jays were going to run away with the division. I am still 13-4 but now I can't seem to hit.
On the flip side I am only 9-7 with the Braves, but have won two in a row where my pitching started to come around, 2-1 and 5-2 wins.
