Not that it really matters, just mostly for my own information.
I'd assume he plays the rest of the year with the HEAT on the ATO, and next year will be his first year as a professional.

Mitch Wahl with an assist in his first game for Abbotsford. Also had 5 shots on goal. Hopefully someone can fill in more with a scouting report from the game.

Not a bad first game for Mitch Wahl on the Heat. With all the injuries the Heat have had this year(Negrin, Pelech, Chucko, Germyn, Armstrong, and now Jaffray) Wahl will be a nice addition.

in case it hasn't been mentioned, Mitch Wahl was named a 1st team all-star in the WHL west

http://www.whl.ca/whl-announces-2009...alists-p141493

he was also named the Chiefs MVP

Lance Bouma has been producing with Craig Cunningham in Vancouver. I think Cunningham had a tryout with the Rangers, but has anyone signed him? Has anyone seen him enough to know if he is capable of playing in the N.H.L? Or is he a career AHLer.

Thanks in advance.

Wahl has a goal and assisted on the tying goal to make it 3-3.

Abbotsford and Lake Erie going to OT.

edit: Heat win it in the SO. 4-3 Final

Can someone who gets a chance to watch Lance Bouma on a regular basis let me know how this kid is doing?

Im just curious as to what type of player he is(any comparable pro? power forward? playmaker? 3rd/4th liner? top six? etc.), and how far off he is to making the NHL.

He said he is eligible to play in the dub again next year but he wants to be in the AHL to move on to his next step in progression.

I'd be very surprised if he ever played a game in the NHL. Has had lots of trouble with injuries, but I wouldn't even really consider him part of the top 6 on the Giants.

Very similar to J.D. Watt with slightly worse hands. Great heart though and will always go to the dirty areas.

Well Bouma is the last man standing for Flame WHL prospects in this years postseason. Bouma is having another good playoff for the Giants, he seems to really step it up in the playoffs which is why I do think he is a good prospect. I think Bouma, Watt, and Grantham give the Flames a nice group of agitator/fighting prospects. Up next for Bouma is Tri-City.

Mitch Wahl: 7 games, 4 goals, 5 assists, 9 points, +5

Ryan Howse: 6 games, 5 goals, 1 assist, 6 points, even

Gaelan Patterson: 10 games 4 goals, 6 assists, 10 points, +5

Lance Bouma: 10 games, 3 goals, 11 assists, 14 points, +6, 35 pim

Spencer Bennett: 13 games, 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points, -1
(still wished we would have drafted Kozun instead of Bennett)

The thing is we don't have any super pests on our team.

Not to mention fast forwards that hit everything in sight.

Bouma hits hard. JD Watt hits hard.

IMO Watt hits a percect 4th line forward. WIll fight, hits and loves to get players off their game.

Yep, and I think that is something Nystrom doesn't do well enough.

He hits alright, but he's not the force he should be every shift.

Well now that all the Flames WHL prospects have all been eliminated from the post season its time to look at who joined the Heat. Mitch Wahl is doing quite well in his first taste of AHL playoffs with some keys assists. I don't know if the Flames can call Carter Bancks a prospect yet (just not sure if he is Flames property) but the former Lethbridge Hurricanes captain is playing with alot of energy. Just read that Lance Bouma will be playing in his first AHL game tonight. Bouma, Watt, and Bancks will form a new energy line today. I have to admit that line looks like it will be fun to watch!

anyone know if Joel Broda is still unsigned by Washington? If he is available, Calgary should look at signing him...

Wahl, Bancks, and Bouma was the new WHL line last night for the Heat. Sounds like they got robbed a couple times. The dub is shining bright for the Heat!

looks like Gaelan Patterson is playing his first AHL game tonight. He is an interesting prospect, he has a decent 2way game.
