Dude I could fill an entire thread all about the food in Chile. Unbelievable. If anyone is in Chile, let me know and I can recommend great places for food. Most of the best places are the little fish markets right on the beach both North and South of Santiago.

Empanadas
- Queso con camarrones (Cheese and shrimp)
- Queso con machas/ostiones/ostras (cheese and different kind of oysters/clams)

- Sopa de mariscos (seafood soup)
- Pastel de choclo (corn dish like a casserole)
- Pastel de jaiba (baked crab dish with cheese)
- Mote con huesillo (refreshing, sweet barley and peach drink)
- The avocado in Chile is out of this world. Mouthwatering
- All the amazing red wine
- Arina tostada
- Pisco and Pisco Sour (alcohol from grapes)
- Ace completo (greater than 30cm dog with lots of avocado, meats and variations with sauerkrautz)
- Barro Luca and Barro Jarpa sandwiches
- Locos (Avalons - seafood)
- Sahne-Nuss chocolate bars (by Nestle). My favourite chocolate bar
- Dulce de leche
- Curanto (youtube video of this being on the rocks on the beach around Castro/Isla Chiloe. If you can find the video of the one from the show Departures, even better).
