If we completely take away the Tyson reference I think the point can still be argued that Tiger is in at least some danger of overshadowing his career with his extra curricular activities.

Adding in the "just like what happened to Tyson" was just for reference.

In no way was it ever meant (I think) to suggest that their actions were equally deserving of attention or disgust.
 |
Absolutely correct. Tysons actions/deeds/stupidity far outweigh Tigers.... in no way are they comparable.... The end result, however, might be.
When we look back at Tyson, we say, or at least I say.... "there was a giant of a man who was virtually unbeatable in the ring.... but even with all that he accomplished, all that I can see in my minds eye is the terrific train wreck that his personal life became." What he did outside the ring will be remembered more than what he did inside.

In my opinion, this "could" happen to Tiger. The guy had it all.... an "extremely" beautiful wife, two lovely children, and the adoration of millions of fans (not all of them being golf nuts by the way). He was, up until November, making $100 million per year (most of it from endorsements), and he is a dominating force on the golf course....
.... Now he's the biggest joke around town. Comedians are having a field day telling Tiger jokes. He could possibly lose his lovely wife and children, he has lost the respect of a large portion of his original fan base, he certainly will lose a significant portion of his yearly income as a result of companies cancelling their endorsement contracts with him... and all this because he couldn't keep his **** in his pants and he paid for the services of call girls (aka "escorts"), porno stars, and pancake waitresses.

Time will tell I guess. 20 years from now what will we remember Tiger for? His records.... or as the guy who "had it all" and blew it?

If this becomes a distraction for Tiger, that when he comes back and is a shadow of his former self, then yes, we'll remember him as the guy who blew it. The odds of that happening do exist, but are pretty nominal.

I can see it all now.... Tiger's competitors all chipping in to pay for a bevy of scantily clad buxom blonde bimbos following Tiger around the course all day, while calling out his name and saying "We love you Tiger!!!" and of course... doing all this while bouncing up and down and clapping with glee.
Tiger of course, will only be thinking about playing with his wood... on every hole!

If I was going against him I'd hire 10 child actors and Gary Coleman to follow Tiger around the course yelling "Daddy, why don't you love me"

			Tiger's score card:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/1..._n_383441.html

Various reports now link Tiger Woods to alleged relationships with at least 11 named women, and rumored affairs with three unnamed women bring the unofficial total to 14.
Huff Post is also reporting Elin will file for divorce in California in the New Year, and that Tiger's dad was also a cheater.

 Does that mean I'm naive?

30% of this board will say it doesnt matter, he plays for the flames
30% of this board will say he is rich, his wife should have expected it, dumb skank
30% will tow the Flames/NHL line of whatever BS they come up with
8% will say they are disgusted with him and he should be ashamed
2% are nucks and oilers fans so who cares what they would think.

Upper Deck hasn't put out a golf set since 2005. I remember picking up his rookie card in 2001 but I have no idea what it is worth. It should go up with all the hype. I think it used to sell for about $80? Maybe there are enough girls for a subset that Upper Deck could put out to try to drum up interest in Golf cards |

What? I'm serious. Thats how much a golf trading card is worth!

But yes i'm kinda bitter. I'm one of the few guys that slept with Woods for money. I'm just sad to find out that he still likes women after me!

Puma: Don't Do It. heheheheMeanwhile, the entertainment gossip website TMZ reported Wednesday that Nordegren, 29, is near a marketing deal with Puma, which it described as the "arch-enemy" of her husband's sponsor, Nike.
Reports now say at least 14 women have had affairs with the golf icon, and that many may have been paid to keep their silence about it.
Despite putting his career on hold to focus his "attention on being a better husband, father, and person," U.S. magazine reported Woods is still in contact with Rachel Uchitel, the first woman linked to the golfer three weeks ago.
The magazine's source says Uchitel has told friends "Tiger was texting her, trying to find time to get together again. He wasn't even fazed!"
U.S. sources say Woods paid her $3,000,000 to stay silent about their relationship and that Uchitel was in West Palm Beach, Fla., this week "within transgressing distance of Woods' $22-million yacht, Privacy."
