If I already have a dedicated phone line for Telus Turbo High Speed DSL, can I cancel my home phone for dark DSL?

Yes, you can cancel your line at any time and keep your adsl. What you cant do is have phone, internet, and TV, and then just keep your TV. Once you have tv internet and phone, your stuck with them all as long as you have TV.

Telus high speed internet is $10/month cheaper than Shaw AND I get a faster download speed. Screw Shaw.

Seriously? Shaw for me owns Telus. It's not even close. We're talking 15-20 Mp/s faster.

Keep in mind Shaw has speed boost, right now my shaw is speed testing at 13 megabits, which means im realistically doing somewhere around 9 or 10 for any kind of downloading

With Telus I was hitting 2 Mb/s. With Shaw I'm hitting 23 Mb/s.

I don't think Telus can compete with Shaw in terms of speeds right now. Their TV (to me) isn't that great. I think the quality is pretty poor, but the selection is good. If they can get expressvu that'd be excellent.

Well it depends on where you are, and, what plan you're on. A lot of TELUS clients still have 1.5 service when they can be provisioned 6.0 service for the same price.

If you call BELL right now to get satellite, they will send you to TELUS. TELUS Satellite tv is the same as bell expressvu, just with TELUS Logos

I said inconsistent service at the end. I'm willing to retract my previous statement of poor with inconsistent. I've had easy phone calls and poor phone calls, I can admit that.

Lets just agree that Telus has been inconsistent in terms of customer service.

If you complain and whine enough they'll take it off for you. I have a couple of friends that don't pay SAF.

I heard rogers is doing something where they're taking off SAF, BUT they're putting an extra $5 on your bill and charging you a seperate entity for 911 fees etc. Not sure if the other companies will follow suit though.

If you go with Koodoo I believe you don't pay SAF and it's the same company... but not. Kinda like Bestbuy and Futureshop. Same but not.

it's a pretty consistent complaint with Telus though. they're not near the same levels as Bells complaints, but it's still an issue. i remember my old roomate getting a Telus telemarketer call, and the lady was extremely pushy. despite my roommate trying to be polite and saying he wasn't interested, she kept pitching all the freebies he would get for signing up and actually said "you'd be stupid not to sign up for this deal". that's when he gave the phone to me, and i informed her that i worked for Shaw and started listing off all the technical superiorities that Shaw's services have over Telus. then she hung up the phone

Can you tell me if Telus is ever going to have their Super High Speed DSL in Bearspaw?

The website has been saying "Coming soon" for over a year now.

I went from Shaw Extreme (and 1800K per second) to Telus "High Speed" DSL (at 350K per second) when I moved ... the slow internet is killing me.

I currently use Shaw for my Cable service, if I switch to Telus's satellite service, can I get a free HD PVR?

Free as in yours to keep? No. But you can take a 1 2 or 3 year service agreement to make it free or 5$ a month

Why does Telus make it so hard to cancel an account?

I used to have a family plan with my brother; his name was used as the account holder & I was a secondary.
He got rid of his side of the account, and transferred the rest of the contract to another person. When this transfer took place, all they did was move the contract over to another account. Thus he is still on my account as the main person, and I am still a secondary.
His name shouldn't be on there because he has nothing to do with the account, and we also paid to have the transfer done.
I went to cancel my account & they said I can't, only my brother can.
So I have my brother call, only to apparently tell him that they can't find any record of an account in his name...

Telus still owes me $12 (plus interest) on my account from when I closed it. Can you send the money to me?

At the interest rates Telus charges ( I can only assume they have to give me the same rate when they owe me money), over two years, that 12 dollars is now about $20 that they owe me.

At the interest rate that I personally charge (50% per month), they now owe me approximately $200,000.

I'll settle for splitting the difference.

When are they going to stop crippling their phones? They can do or say anything they want to try to look legit, but until they stop crippling their phones, they will always be a Mickey Mouse outfit.
