Another here for all the Unibroue ones. Terrible is my favorite. I usually get two bottles at a time, one for drinking and one for making a stew.
I was at a dinner party last weekend where they were making mimosas with Chamblay and orange juice. Damn tasty, way better than a regular champagne mimosa (although I'm not a champagne fan at the best of times).

another vote for Fat Tire Ale here, I get a case everytime I go south. MGD is very easy to drink. My favourite Canadian beer is still good old Molson Export. Keith's is ok as well.

Big Rock used to brew a really good Chinook Pale Ale. Sadly they don't make it anymore.

Miller High Life is another American brew that goes down easy.

lol.......yep, it's bad. Bought a 6-pack and could only drink 2. Brutal.
I usually try to drink different stuff when I'm out in a restaurant or pub. If I'm buying beer to drink while watching a hockey game, I usually go through phases and stick with certain beer for a little while. Right now I've been buying Rickard's White. It's not too bad.

Innis and Gunn - only avail in singles at $4 or so per bottle. Oak aged in scotch casks. This is the greatest beer on the planet. But it's not to get drunk off of.
Maudite or La fin du monde or trois pistole : all three are triple fermented meaning they have higher alcohol content (about 8% IIRC). They are made by Sleeman (a sister company called Unibroue) and they are all delicious.
Dab - this one goes by another name too but it says dab on the bottles i think. German, really tasty, better than the heinikens and stellas out there for Euro beers.
Fruili - again only avail in singles and it is kind of a girly beer. Tastes like raspberrys or strawberries i can't remember which. Very tasty for a desert beer.
Big Rock Espresso: This beer is phenomenal especially after a meal with some chocolate. tastes like it sounds, almost tastes like guiness but carbonated more with a less frothy head.
Grolsch : another delicious Euro beer.
Rickards White. Great at the bar with lots of orange.
check out this site for some snobby but extensive opinions. The guy is from Calgary too.

Very interesting. Nice list. I'll be sure to keep some of those in mind. And it's so true that beer preference varies hugely between people.
I don't drink beer all that often, but when I do I like to try different things. Make it interesting.
I agree with those that say Innis and Gunn is excellent. I've only tried it once, but it lived up to the hype IMO.
I've also tried Fruili and it was way better than I expected. It's a strawberry-flavoured white beer from Belgium that totally works.
Don't know if any of you have ever tried St. Bernardus - a Belgian "quad" - but even as a newby in the beer connoiseur scene (still am), I immediately realized how good this beer was after a single sip. One bottle was enough for me, as well ( 10.5% abv). It's very different and very good. Look for it.
[Apparently it's available in Calgary - the Kensington Wine Market being one option ( link; link)]
I don't like many of the American beers I've tried (admittedly, that list is not long). Which kinda sucks. As far as cheap beer goes, I'm content with a Molson. Kokanee, Pilsner, Corona, Heineken, etc are all fine too. Though all different, it's all on about the same level for me. I'll definitely take some of the advice in this thread if I ever want to pick up a case of something easy drinking. A refreshing brew is really nice every now and then.

Moosehead for sure. As another poster said in this thread, best mass produced beer in Canada.
The liquor store by my place carries Moosehead Light as well. Love the stuff and allows me to have a few and not worry so much about my diet.

Superstore Honey Red is my beer of choice (if I'm buying). 21 bucks a flat, and I don't tell a whole lot of difference between it and, say, a Sleemans.
Beer has gotten ridiculously expensive these days, so I don't mind cheaping out if it's not a terrible beer.

Kokanee before and after hockey, unless someone brings Keith's. Speaking of which, we made a can pyramid in the parking lot at 3-Rinks in North Van last night, well yesterday afternoon before the game, and when we came back outside 5 hrs later, the guy who parked next to me had his back tire touching the pyramid but nothing fell over! We were all pretty amazed, but I digress...
I drank Efes Pilsener like water when I was in Istanbul, also second whoever suggested Tuborg.

Just got home from buying 24 Innis & Gunn's from the SuperStore liquor store - referenced earlier as $4/bottle but you can get it for $68/24 there. Brilliant beer
Good to see Velvet Fog get mentioned - great wheat ale.
Lately I've been drinking Efes (Turkish beer) - Dark is better but there is a Pilsener as well. Website is ridiculous, the turks really love their pops - http://www.dreaminefes.com/

we're already three pages in but I'll chime in now
Molson Canadian: I hate it, won't drink it, the draught tastes like there's wrotten apple in it
Coors Light: A good end of the night beer, generally used to help sober up a bit while still drinking. (how East Coast is that?). I get cranky if I'm only drinking this light beer
Labatt Blue: Best of the mainstream, I'll have it if there isn't any
Alexander Keith's India Pale Ale: Nectar of Ye Gods, First choice, the draught is my favourite drink on earth
Alexander Keith's Traditional Pale Ale: Good, fun to drink, but not IPA
Garrison Tall Ship: A nice change, a bit on the bitter side for a pale ale
Blue Star: I just discovered this on my trek over to Newfoundland for George Street. I'm a fan, not Keith's to me, but the best of the regional beers I've had.
Corona: A nice light beer, but not what I'll be drinking to get drunk. Good to sip on, and maybe change things up when at the bar
Sleeman's: Not bad, I consider it a sipping beer as well. I find it a little bit dry, but all in all it's good.

For a cheap beer, I like Alexander Keiths.....
For the imports I like Heineken and Guiness.
I also like Rickards three: White, Honey Brown, and Red. Sleeman's honey brown is great as well.
My guilty pleasure is Corona.

Always been a big Labatt Blue drinker, can't stand Canadian unless I'm at a hockey game. Just recently I've started drinking Big Rock's XO Lager after trying it at a music festival up here and it's quickly becoming a favourite.

An excellent Minnesota beer:
Angry Planet is made with organic American 2-row, Cara- mel 60 and Munich malts and Cascade hops. An aroma of citrus and light toast. A nice flavorful punch of citrus hop is balanced by slight caramel sweetness and plays off on the hop bitterness.
