Things are starting to heat up on the Noah front. I've herd at least 1 eastern conference team has been calling a lot this week. Based of previous information, I believe the Panthers but this isn't confirmed.
Flames ask is steep. It's been Anton Lundell since the summer and it continues to be at this point. Panther's know the cost and what the extension looks like. I don't believe a flames extension is off the table however.

On the Elias front, teams are only interested in paying a rental price for him. They view it as a risk reward Winnipeg, Redwings seem to be the most popular here. From what I've herd is Colorado has distanced themselves grabbing Parise, one source thinks is posturing to drop the flames ask.

I brought up earlier in the year that Andrew Mangiapane maybe a little unhappy. It appears Steinberg and Francis picked this up recently but (I haven't herd anything new) I think there is a little bad blood here because of his last contract negotiations and the team since JG/MT summer. One source claims he's been really disinterested on the ice this season and wonders if he did indeed request a change.

Honestly, sell any guy who has value over the age of 26. This team needs as fresh of a start at possible. Load up on 1sts and 2nds.

Thanks for this - I was just wondering how that whale faced BSer Friedman still has a job when your post popped up.

It's amazing the Flames have played even this well considering the stuff that seems to be bubbling under the surface. A few guys really want out of here and I hope they get their wish soon and Conroy gets a fair return.

I only wish it would happen faster.

Mangiapane unhappy? With what, his own play?

Holtz for Tanev would be robbery. That's a pipe dream. Maybe for Hanifin if he signed.

Yeah it makes no sense he’d be unhappy. He hasn’t earned the contract he was given, let alone the contract he likely wanted.

Mangiapane is the third highest paid forward on the team and 92nd highest paid forward in the league.

He should be showing up to the arena every with a big smile that his agent was able to bilk Treliving for $5.8M AAV

Still think the Jets land Lindholm. It's supremely clear they have the need and the fit and the room and the expendable depth assets to make it happen.

If they got Lundell for Hanifin that'd be fantastic. I want that more than anything.

There's potential to retool real quick with these rumors. And make the team better over the long term.

Re-tool quick? Lundell isn't as good as Hanfin. Seems like a lateral move best case.

There are 32 teams in the league so 96 top line forwards....

I really hope that's not Lundell as the main piece coming back. I've been really disappointed with his game this season. Admittedly, he's only 21, and it could just be a somophere slump. He has been Dube-esque defensively IMO.

The speculation regarding Mang on the Fan was that he isn't too happy with mostly his 3rd-line usage(I think Francis said that). I think that Mang being off the PP again is a part of it.

Which is concerning as his defensive game was what made him a high draft pick. His offensive numbers were decent but scouts really raved about his potential as a defensive center.

That was indirectly my point. Mangiapane is technically getting first line money while not delivering anything remotely close to that level of performance

Oh wonderful, so now Mangiapane is apparently unhappy and wants out while simultaneously playing like #### and tanking his value.

Everything coming up "flames" again.

I do worry about Conroy’s comments a few weeks ago on the results of the first round drafting from the 2013 draft (Klimchuk and Poirier). He pointed out how they ended up with nothing from the Iginla and Jaybow trades. Makes me think he wants proven prospects (like Lundell) in place of first round picks. I really think the drafting has improved on this team and I think they could do fine getting first round picks instead of making a hard stance on getting a team’s top prospect/young NHLer. Teams are usually very reluctant to trade those guys.

It probably comes from management and ownership wanting the rebuild/retool to be a quick turnaround.

A breakout would make it even. As it stands now Hanfin is easily the better player. A 50-60 pts Lundell is probably around equal impact to Hanifin now. Which I don't see how that turns things around quickly.

Friedman saying the Sens are looking at Tanev. Not sure why they would trade for a rental rather then just go after him in the offseason.

Because they can flip him easily.
