Lindy for Byram, Byram take Hanifins slot, Hanifin for McLeod ++ McLeod takes Lindholms statistical spot. (I.e similar stats minus some assists). We don't get worse and get some extra bits out of it.

...we don't get better though, and that has to be part of it.

McLeod should 100% not be a target, unless that ++ is a 1st + 2nd.

I'm just going off rumors dude. What if it's McLeod and Holtz?

Anyways, we don't get better, we do get younger and more cost control. And cheaper. Seems very Flamesy to me.

Yeah, this is what I'm hoping we don't do.

Yeah, didn't mean to come off as criticizing your take or anything - just moreso that McLeod just shouldn't be the type of target in my eyes.

I get Flamed for it but I'm okay with McLeod. The extra picks coming over fall in line with a build through the draft. Or even a home run deal that gets Holtz+McLeod is great.

End of the day, McLeod is a lateral acquisition to Lindholm (current seasons stats) and they can land extra picks or another player.

If we want a good draft position to land a lottery win or even a Cayden Lindstrom, do we want to be better?

The best asset the Flames will be adding in these trades in all likelihood is improving the value of the Flames own 1st round pick.

Not saying this will be the deal, but NHL trades take weeks sometimes, especially with leveraging, talking about retention and extensions. I doubt it is as easy as done after a phone call.

Colorado might be weighting in options, looking at Landy situation and might be like "yeah a package of Byram and 1st might be doable"

Make him a 4-5 million dollar player.

I’m not a fan of Kadri’s game. It’s selfish and lazy at times. I’ll never forgive him for the shuffleboard hockey he played at the end of last season. He has rebounded into expectations this year tho.

I just don’t see Colorado wanting the term of the deal but you know wink wink he blows a hip anything can happen in this league with LTIR.

The new building is coming - there’s no need to spend $85M a year on this team right now.
