Not every deal is going to be a Lindholm deal. I also am not sure it needs to be. Just make sure you get the higher picks. Rather than adding more “stuff” get more premium picks. Better picks = better odds of better players.
Flames development is pretty good. Leverage your organizational strength. Not to mention it’s the only real way a Canadian market can build a contender IMO.

Someone mentioned he loves the Flames and Calgary and he's coming back as long as he's invited back.

I don’t find it quite as worrying because the circumstances are very odd this year. Normally we don’t have 5 players that are good that are likely to be traded at the same time. So it makes sense that there is way way more chatter. Even if this was about Nashville there would be a ton of chatter.

Didn't Pat and Francis elude to the rumblings coming from New Jersey and not the Flames?
Usually the Flames keep things really quiet, it's rare that things break here days in advance.
IIRC Sec also indicated that his source was from the East Coast, so who knows.
Has to be bothering the team though, too much noise at the moment.

No, Pat and Francis just said it was hard to get responses from people in the organization lately. I did not take that at all as them eluding to leaks coming from New Jersey - someone on here wrote it as if that was the case, but I think that's a stretch.
The 'noise' around the team right now was unavoidable. It was always the road they were going to walk. They're a bad team with no elite talent and significant contracts expiring this year and over the course of the next two years - this noise was always going to come.

Why would you think the Flames have said any of this? They aren't allowed to discuss players from other teams in public. If the press, or chat sites, are discussing it then that has nothing to do with the teams involved.

This happens all the time with trades. It is not unique to the Flames. In fact, historically the Flames have been pretty tight lipped about this - my guess is it came from NJ as a negotiating tactic.

Every NHL team smells chum in the water in Flames land. Going to be tough for Conroy over the next couple weeks.

It's actually really unfortunate Hanifin's decision leaked because that kills some leverage they had.
I think all that stuff just needs to stay between the team and the player because of the effect it can have.
Other teams now know the Flames have to sell off a couple of players by March 8th and can't use the possibility of extension as a bargaining chip (in case destinations are severely limited).

I'm not sure how you come to that.
ARZ's 2024 1st is currently poised to be 6th. Soderstrom is a good prospect, and Crouse is better than Mangiapane.
I'd consider that a slam dunk "W" for the Flames to get 6th Overall, Soderstrom, and Crouse for Mangiapane and Andersson.
That's turning one good asset (Andersson) who is older, one absolute bleh asset in Mangiapane into 3 very good pieces.
I'd take that trade today if it was on the table.
(the rumour doesn't appear to be real on any level...but it's good value for CGY)

It only takes one team out of the equation. There are still (rumoured) buyers out there.
