Because a 15 year old doesn't have a career serving at Chilli's or working at a donut shop. They don't have to study their job and devote themselves completely. Serving is a part time job to 95 % of people. They should be more focused on studying, going to college, and not having to work jobs where a 35 cent raise means anything. And they will continue to do so, servers will continue to flirt with some customers, make mistakes, make jokes, not worry if every little thing is being done right and enjoy being young. You will keep complaining, and they will keep hiring the same staff, and making money. It won't change, and it hasn't for over 10 years. And life will be awesome

As far as what it sounds like you are trying to say, I understand. It's not MY FAULT those people are cheap. I cannot control them. NOT EVERYONE IS LIKE THAT!
|
POS = Piece of....fill in the rest yourself
Essentially your expectations are all servers should be emotionless robots who don't get affected when someone tells them their great service was crap via the tip. And that server who gets stiffed won't be affected by it, will eseentially erase that out of their memory and move on to the next customer and automatically assume the same effort will result in a much better tip. So what happens if it doesn't again, and its another crap tip? You again expect that person to just say "Well thats two awful tips in a row for exceptional service, think I'll work even harder next time?". You live with expectations of this fantasy world where everyone does everything because its right.

As I said before, a donut shop/diner, which we served much more than just donuts like burgers, chicken tenders, sandwiches, biscuits, croissants, etc.
I would bust my butt and then some for my customers. I am not like the lazy people that serve us at times out there. You don't know WHAT the hell you are talking about. I use to clean up in the back even to have something to do. I HATE doing nothing. Most people wouldn't CREATE work, they'd do the LEAST work for their money.

My point is, if the parents raised their kids right like mine did, they'd have *RESPONSIBLE* KIDS that WORK HARD. My mom MADE me help out with chores, make my bed everyday, clean my room etc. Most parents don't make their kids do anything, so they become lazy.
So when the 15 yr old gets fired or reprimanded or just get a bad tip or stiffed, they will START TO *LEARN* what being an ADULT really is, that it has to do be with being *RESPONSIBLE* and not being LAZY to have things, otherwise, you won't have a job to pay for the things you want.

Ever heard of Dunkin Donuts? You should see now they serve all of those kinds of things. I didn't work at a dunkin donuts, but just to say now-a-days it's common for donut shops to serve all of that.

Your parents did an exemplary job of raising the Queen of the Trolls. They should be exceptionally proud.

I really hope Springs realizes she has probably consumed more sweat, spit and boogers than Sasha Grey.

HOW? People complain whether it's for something that just to get something for free or sometimes it's really something that's valid. Heck, I bet even YOU have complained to someone in your lifetime as a customer whether in a store or restaurant.

Springs1, do you accept my new label of morlock? Or do you prefer troll? I feel a master such as yourself is deserving of a title greater than troll.

Springs1, my wife and I do dine out as often as you claim to, typically 2-3 times per week (more if we're travelling or it's a holiday). We've been doing this for almost a decade. I've literally had hundreds of restaurant experiences, and I can only recall maybe two or three times in which I've received genuinely bad service. The number of times in which I've asked to speak to the manager to compliment our server and single him or her out for going above and beyond greatly exceeds the number of times in which I've had to complain.
Although perhaps the fact that we only ever go to upscale establishments and never chain restaurants like Red Lobster, TGIFriday's, Olive Garden, IHOP, or any of the other places you frequent might be the reason for that.
Or maybe it's just that my wife and I understand what a reasonable level of service looks like and don't act like we're royalty because we ordered a $20 entree and a soft drink.
