Black people misbehave. We're broke and dumb, it's just a part of America (no sarcasm). I'm trying to separate this from the fact that, maybe, this shouldn't have gone to a grand jury? Which is all I was saying from the beginning.

Shocking considering how similar the histories of white people and black people in the United States are.

Did OJ kill his wife because she was white? If you haven't noticed that's what the rioters claim the cop did, kill him because he was black.

And hey when you look at the mostly white police force in Ferguson I guess you have to wonder if racism is still alive and well there.

Mostly all white police force policing a mostly all Black population. Things were destined to go well..

Black Americans aren't good at this.

From what I don't understand is how in the hell the squad car didn't have a camera.

I understand why people are protesting and go for it. 99% of the folks there are doing the right thing and the few bad apples are just trying to stir things up.

I will have to say that I can never say "i know what you mean" because I'm not black, I can't completely relate with black people.

I'm just tired of the racial crap that this has brought. this has turned into another MSM beating the racism drum to get everyone up in arms about everything instead of actually going after what is needed the most in this case and that is police transparency which it's obvious that there is none in STL.

Who said he killed him because he was black?

Jessie Jackson or his buddy Sharpton?

Only black people riot.

White people "celebrate." After a championship win--white people "celebrate" by lighting couches on fire and looting. Or after a championship loss--white people also light things on fire and loot--but it's just people getting a little out of control! Hey, West Virginia University has at least one riot a year--but it's always brushed under the rug. Boys being boys and all that.

Numbers have proven that this police force has regularly profiled the people of color in its community. Higher arrest rates, numerous examples of excessive force, etc, etc. This is a community that is terrified of the authorities who are supposed to be protecting them, and yes, they are lashing out.

But if we can overlook it as nonsense when it's sports fans reacting to an overall meaningless sporting event--I'm pretty sure we can give a little bit of rope to a community that is angry, that is hurting, that is scared.

This community deserves a police force that they can trust, and the men in power at the moment don't look at all like they're capable of being that force.

Yes, he suggested that their motivation for lying was that he was a white cop. Right or wrong given the media up-roar, if there were people who came forward after the fact, it is entirely possible.

But he called them liars based on the DA's statement that their testimony did not match the testimony of others or the evidence.

Neither point is based on any solid facts. But that does not mean he thinks they are obviously liars because he's a white cop. He thinks they lied because he's a white cop.

To me it seemed like you were taking a stance of, [Stop defending him, because he's a white cop].

I don't want to defend anyone in this situation because it looks like there are allot of wrong people in this, and I know everyone wants to talk about the past in this conversation, but we can't control or change that at this point. Where it stands now if things are going to improve in the US they need to work on mutual respect and trust, and that has to come from both sides. People basically exaggerating or falsifying their statements to defend a member of their community at the expense of someone in another community will not bring about improvement weather White/Black/Brown.......

depends where you live, not everyone is so fortunate to be free from unjust police persecution. In some places in the States it's mandated for the police to do so.

When Casey Anthony got off, they did the white equivalent: voice displeasure on social media. Likely because white people, on average, are better behaved. But I am ignorant for saying something that is quite obviously true given that I've lived it my whole life?

To some degree, I think I'm actually on your side on this. I hate how racial it got.

White people burned their city to the ground over a hockey game. Again, I know you're black but think you're wrong. The fact they are black is not why they are rioting, it's how they think they have been wronged. Not every one is as strong as your parents. Some just have zero hope from the start and them being Black is part of that reason.

Nobody can deny that being born white vs Black in America gives you an automatic advantage.

While I agree the police will never be trusted by the majority of people. They've done nothing to really be trusted because most of the time that you deal with them you're going to have pay a fine.

It seems that the LEO's have this Us vs Them mindset and that has made them a little trigger happy.
