I am so freaking cold today. I know that they temperature has been way worse over the past month but I have never been as cold as I am today. I haven't been able to feel my feet since I took a shower this morning. Everyone else in the office seems just fine but I am freezing.

Technically, the holiday season is over for me, but I am still eating like I am on holidays. It's gonna be a rough ride getting back into healthy eating and working out.

The gym was packed yesterday making it difficult to get on a cardio machine. Thankfuly these same people will be gone by the end of January and the gym will retrun to normal.

So a few days ago I put a bit more memory in my old computer. Seemed to work fine. For 3 days.
Last night, I paid off my Christmas bills, checked the bank account and decided I could start figuring out the price of buying a new computer.
I'm not sure if my old computer started to feel threatened or jealous, but now it will not reboot. It will not even POST. Guess I'll be working on that when I get home from work.

That's what I hate and my rationale for not going to the gym. I hate going when it's packed and I have to wait for equipment. Or even worse, someone else is standing around waiting for the equipment I'm using.

^^Yeah, someone waiting behind you constantly making it known they are there, like you somehow had forgotten or didn't see or hear them standing there sighing, checking their watch.
I always hated using the gym. My old job came with a membership to a gym in the building and I tried it out, really excited about it. It was just not good. From waiting for the machines, seeing people not wipe them down and it feeling very much like a meat market instead of a gym, I just had to quit.

What I hate is that the gym I'm a member at, there are locations that claim to be 24 hours but they close on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I'd love to be able to go at 11pm on a Friday or Saturday night when hopefully no one else is there but it's not available.

Cool, we need to get him posting again!
Last night, I went to see Valkyrie and I actually really enjoyed it. Tom Cruise did a very good job in that. I haven't been a big war buff so I didn't really know the stories about the Germans trying to overthrow Hitler, so I thought it was really cool.
I've also been in a bit of a shopping mood lately, so today I decided to buy exactly 1 share of Berkshire Hathaway. Maybe try to go to their AGM in May.

2008 was an emotional rollercoaster for us. Here's my list chronologically....
Bad: My workplace closed and myself and all my co-workers (including my wife) got laid off.
Good: My son was born. Our first child.
Good: One of my closest cousins got engaged.
Bad: A friend who was sick for the last few years passed away.
Good: I got a new job within the same company.
Bad: A former co-worker and friend died of a heart attack.
Good: My brother in-law got married.
Bad: The company announced more layoffs. Two of my closest co-workers were let go.
Good: My sister got engaged during the holidays.
2008 was a strange year. Watching my son during his first year was amazing though and made it easier to forget the more difficult times.

I'm leaving early today. This has been one of the most boring days at work ever.

I am too afraid to check the scales to see what I put on over the holidays.

I've read that Sobey's is now carrying Tim Tams and I'm tempted to head over there tonight and see if the one near me has them.
I haven't been able to find them for the past six months and I miss Tim Tam Slams.

So far I'd have to say 2009 is off to a pretty bad start. A couple of days ago my dog stopped eating her food. I tried giving her a bit of plain cereal and a bit of cheese (the only people food she can eat) just to see if she would eat that. For a day or two she would eat that, but then stopped eating entirely. I noticed she started to throw up a lot too, mostly bile since she wasn't eating anything. And then she stopped drinking water too.
Today I took her to the vet, because I was getting really worried. After some other tests, they took some x-rays, and found a mass larger than a fist in her chest. The vet said he had never seen anything like it. They took some samples and sent them off to the lab, and we should know by tomorrow what this "mass" actually is. However the vet said it does not look good.
I'm pretty sad, because this dog is my childhood pet. She's almost 14, and has lived a very good life, and I knew this day would come eventually... but I think that deep down I was secretly hoping she'd live as long as I do!
