He also just watched his 115 point line mate leave town, if all that other stuff wasn't enough on it's own.
And people piss and moan about Treliving non-stop when the guy builds a 111 point team despite the deck being stacked against him.
Kadri? Nope, don't want to go there
Fox? Nope, don't want to go there
Gaudreau? Nope, gonna take a $15 million haircut and go to an 80 point team in Columbus instead
lol

Said the same thing to Carolina...he was only going to NYR
the covid stuff is stupid though, Commie isn't the guy I am looking to for medical advice...he can say fear mongering but its getting out of control again in the US, few more 100k dead who cares I guess when you are a millionaire professional party guy.
Places like California have more covid restrictions right now than Calgary does

Thing is - whether his views are crazy or not isn't really the question. Do active NHL players share those views is. And it's entirely possible that a bunch of lesser educated guys who live in their own little sports world for the most part can get a bit skewed one way or another. Just takes someone that sounds like they know about things to convince a group of peers. I've had perfectly nice guys I know who run their own little businesses etc tell me the most incorrect stuff about Covid. Easily proven incorrect if you read, but they don't - they just hear stuff from others.

Sure, but so is Gaudreau.
And he's not wrong, those restrictions existed and if the powers-at-be listen to the medical leaders, then we could very well see those restrictions again. I'm not arguing for or against them, but if you want to be able to see your family by easily traveling to them or vice versa, it's probably much safer signing in the USA if they are in the USA.
Canada still has restrictions on unvaccinated parties coming to Canada. Non-citizens need to be vaccinated for visitations and quarantine otherwise. Again, not arguing against it but it exists.

Sure, but he's just projecting his opinions on Gaudraeu. It's pure speculation, wrapped in his own inability to understand reality.

Is Chucky a crazy QAnon anti vaxxer like insane Mike Commodore? Otherwise, who gives a #### what commodore has to say and how it affects tkachuk?
One rando CPer says their friend doesn’t like Canada’s covid protocols and one insane person on twitter later and now there’s a narrative no one wants to play in Canada because of covid. Riiiiight.
Were Johnny’s family a bunch of anti vaxxers? Because they sure didn’t have any problem crossing the border during the playoffs. But now people are saying it’s an issue all of a sudden?
Are the New York teams having issues signing guys? New York State had some pretty stringent covid restrictions.
What about any of the UFAs that signed in Canada in the last week? Or they worried about covid protocols too?
I get it, it seems that pro sports has its share of degenerate anti vaxxers, maybe even at a higher rate than the general public, but as of yet there is zero indication that it’s had any major affect on any Canadian pro sports teams. This whole narrative is mostly being pushed by the most ardent anti vaxxers/freedumb protesters and anti Trudeau troglodytes hat we’ve had to put up with for the past two and a half years. Let’s not give their bat#### crazy ramblings any more credence than we did up until now (ie none).

I just don't think that tips the scales
California is getting mask mandates again...RIP Sharks, Ducks, Kings?
Gaudreau is one player who wanted to be on the east coast with no pressure, plenty of Canadian teams have signed players recently. Heck Zadorov likely took less to come back.

Where are all those people who were sure there was a plan B in place on D-day?
I maintain what I said then: there was never a plan B, these guys are ####ing terrible at planning beyond what words are going to pop out of their mouths next. That's the secret of the process right there. 100% reactive.

You don't know what they tried or had floated out there. The window for them to unload contracts was so small that it is unlikely they had the time to move the players they needed to move. Hench Fletcher saying he couldn't move the players (JVR was the big one) in time and Flyers were out because they did not want to give up the first round picks it would have required to move out the contracts they needed to dump.

Realistically, what it probably means is they likely have a plan on how they want to proceed if it doesn't work out, if not some pokers in the fire already, and that's pretty much all they can do.
Having a contingency plan doesn't mean the contingency plan is a guarantee.

But that is not what contingency means. Contingency plans are what you pursue after Plan A fails. And there is zero doubt they have multiple contingency plans - it is literally what they do for a living.
Some possible contingency plans:
1) Forsberg
2) Debrincat (now off the table)
3) Kadri
4) trade Tkachuk and rebuild
... etc
You seem to want contingency plans to be executed now, before Plan A has fallen through.

Y'all where are the other plans you were hopeful existed? Because I think we can all confidently say these are not being executed/ likely did not exist in any tangible form at all by now, right?

If only Tkachuk had a brother and we could judge based off his actions if he might have an issue staying in Canada with the covid rules. That would be amazing information to have.

But regardless of whether you want to classify it as fear-mongering, experts are expecting a fall COVID surge at least until omicron variant vaccines are available.
You're basically relying on Trudeau not closing down the border again against the advice of health officials if this surge does materialize.
Players with family and friends on other side of the border (Canadians playing in America, or American playing in Canada), will have to factor in cross-border travel and the possibility that restrictions increase again. And that's assuming the family and friends can even travel at all right now across the border which they can't if they aren't vaccinated. Going to California and wearing a mask is completely different situation than not being able to go to California at all.
Sort of extreme sides of both positions ending up in same position. If you don't believe in COVID and are unvaccinated, you can't travel across the border. If you do believe in COVID and hope the government follow health official advice, you're almost hoping the borders close when the surge is peaking.

Any chance that is when he's going to do his "thing" for Calgary and its fans?
I'd like to see him deliver on what he said so that its easier to put this negativity around Johnny as a person behind us.

That's not a plan, that's an MO or a general policy.
What was said before remains true: There was seemingly NEVER a plan for dealing with Johnny's departure.
