I guess that's what happens when the original show-runner (Clyde Phillips) leaves the show.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? You really believe this is just a ratings grab? You realize that Brian is dead right?
This was by far the best episodes of the season and possibly the best episode since the finale of season 4.
First I just wanted to say that it is as obvious as ever that Olmos isn't real. They even mentioned that Hanks is a good painter and then they showed Olmos painting the picture of the whore.
Back to Brian. It seems somewhat obvious to me what Brian represents. Back in season 2
Dexter was having visions of Moser in place of Harry. Dex was questioning his code and coming to grip with the guilt of finding out that Harry killed himself after he saw one of
Dexter's kills.
In season 6 context, Moser represented the dark side of
Dexter's dark passenger. Crazy to think that Harry may actually be the light in
Dexter, at least in terms of his dark passenger. Seeing Dex struggle with his dark side was tremendous, especially when that POS Nick was happy about Sam dying.
I can't wait to see how this turns out.
Interesting interview with one of the show's producers. Reinforces the idea that the Dark Passenger really took over Dex.
