Yeah, it must be tough for white people being minorites with how they've been treated by black people all these years.

garbage bag limit a complaint? maybe Airdrie wants a sustainable community. Encourage people to recycle and cut down on waste. Go visit the landfills in the Calgary area its pretty sad what people throw away because they are too lazy

I think the reason for a lot of the growth in Airdrie is the cost.

Now I cannot say this is the reason for everyone, but anecdotally in my experiences, I find that even in Calgary's outter suburbs, a lot of the people buying new starter homes are just barely able to afford a detached home with a minimum down payment. For people who can't afford Calgary then Airdrie might be just within reach for them to shoehorn themselves into a detached house vs. a condo or a townhome in Calgary.

This might also explain the growth of Canada's fastest growing city Milton, ON. Simply that both cities are pretty much the cheapest place to get a newly built detached home within commuting distance of a major city. I think it's a symptom of how unaffordable real estate has gotten in this country.

Can anyone who lives in Airdrie or has lived in Airdrie confirm whether or not this salesman was pulling my leg?
Its true. But you can go to home depot and buy those big a$$ orange glad bags which are like 2 black bags in 1 and put 2 of those bad boys out and they will take them.

saying you don't want your kids to be a minority in their school is not racism...people send their kids to schools based on certain cultural and religious beliefs every day

I don't recall anyone saying it was racism. Just ignorant and stupid.

And people send their kids to schools based on certain cultural beliefs everyday, you are correct. You didn't say that though. You said you sent them to a different school because of the color of their skin.

Theres not alot of "color" in my community in Airdrie. There was 1 family but I think the abundance of honkys that surrounded them was enough to move them out.

The funny/sad part is you went out of the way to say your kids were white, they turn around and say it isn't racist.

So saying you want your kids to go to school where it's mostly white people doesn't seem slightly racist to you?

Agreed, but my point was that no one called him racist and he defended himself not being racist without anyone calling him racist. Usually a big sign that you are racist.

I'm gonna go with guilt by association. Look who thanked dino7c's post, then read the following:

Did you really just use the words "Airdrie" and "sustainable" in the same sentence?
