I've never been into Airdrie, just gone past it on the QE2. All I have to say is those houses look so cheap I'm surprised they can stay up in mildly windy conditions. It looks like a model town.

However, I have a hate for all things suburban after spending 6 years growing up in the suburbs of Las Vegas (Henderson). The same problem of low quality structures for new houses exists there, although it's probably worse. Almost everything in our house was broken within 5 years: faucets, shower doors, door handles, cabinets, etc.

I agree, I was referring more to much smaller towns, but not singling any place out in particular. I just always laugh at people who move out of cities to go to small towns for the 'quality of life' when in reality small town living is closer to what Cecil describes than it is to any of the ideal picturesque utopias that some people believe.

A lot of deep seeded hate for Airdrie here. I find most of it is based on misconceptions on both sides.

As for the dingo joke? Its the internet. If you're going to rustle up some righteous indignation every time an inappropriate joke rolls around then you should put the mouse down and go back to your knitting needles gramps.

Certainly not happy about it, but when you keep a potentially vicious carnivore steps away from your baby you're definitely exposing them to a danger that I would never let my kids be exposed to. I can't understand why any parent would let a dog around their child.

On top of that, I don't think anybody on this board has ever proposed a kill-em-all agenda. There was a sterilize-all-the-current-dogs proposal to rid the city of them within a generation, which makes sense to me. Doesn't hurt/kill any dogs and current owners don't lose their pet(s).

I prefer using Airdrie's Wal-Mart Supercentre when needed. Less hectic in there.
