I think we should do a hybrid of that, do #1 for now, and by the end of the preseason, hire our own AHL coaches? but if #1 works for everyone, I'm cool with that.

My concern is how do we apply rules for that. Will teams simply try to hire other NHL coaches for the AHL? And what do we do about their contracts? Do they apply to cap space?
I think its something we look at for next year.

I would think that they should get a standard minimal contract that only apply to the AHL cap. (my suggestion btw is for later, not now, I think generic is the way to go for now)

I agree, in my opinion its to late to worry about AHL coaches... I would recommend that every team gets a generic Coach and generic AHL rating.
We could roll out it differently next Summer

Short term: Option 1
Long term: I'd love to see a randomized draft, much like when Coaches were introduced into the CPHL in the first place.
Or, why not have us as AHL coaches... that'd be cool...
Manitoba Moose Head Coach... Sandra Prusina!!!

I love the idea of a faceless generic clone working with Oilers prospects.
Option number one for me. Option number one forever.

Poor Moose. I'd put together the lineup based on the nicest eyes.
