GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra
Looks like we missed another popcorn flick trailer during the Super Bowl yesterday.

(click on the link on the right hand side)
Looks as silly as the idea of actually doing a GI Joe movie.
CANT WAIT!!
Anything with Ninjas is good in my mind.

Not sure if this thread had the actual trailer, but it was discussing the movie, among other topics.

Had an idea!

It looks stupid to me.
But, trailers don't mean much.

Awesome!! Haha if I didnt grow up with G.I. Joe I probably would think this looks stupid, but I did. I love finally bein old enough to be in the target age-group where movie producers are bringin back all our childhood toys. Now's all we need is a He-Man and Ninja Turtles(the old ones, not those lame new computer graphics ones) movies and they've got er covered.

hmm plot line synopsis.
Cobra comes up with a big elaberate plan to steal some god piece or alien technology using kidnapping, elabarate deceptions and 15 battalions of the least accurate soldiers known to man.
GI Joe foils them with three guys and a rusty pickup truck. Amazingly in this war, nobody dies.
Movie ends with Cobra Commander swearing revenge.
Something Awful.com used to have a feature called reports from the battlefield that focused on major battles in the GI Joe universe, it was probably the funniest thing that I've ever seen.

I want to see this! I was a bigger fan of Transformers when I was a kid, but I think this movie will be better!

The voice over alone kinda suggests to me how bad the acting will be in the movie.
Not that a lot of people go to action films for acting, but it can certainly make or break a film.
EDIT: And as far as movies based on toys go, they are usually only a tiny bit better than movies based on video games.

I'd rather see Seth Green of Robot Chicken as the director and writer of the GI-Joe movie.

This movie will be awesome! To me at least, I've waiting since 1985 for this.
I still have my old G.I. Joe toys in my attic. I think it's time to break them out so Stormshadow and Snake Eyes can have another ninja fight (like in the trailer)...

If this can do what Transformers did for that franchise a few years ago, I'll be over impressed. I pee'd a little when I heard about Transformers, but I'm not as jazzed about GI Joe yet.
But by the looks of the trailer, it's either going to match Transformers, or Street Fighter. Please be the former.

Haha! I really enjoyed Inner Space. Though it's been a while since I've seen it, it could easily be one of those 80's movies that look horribly dated now.
I do agree Dennis Quaid has been in some stinkers though.

Everyone I have talked to about this preview from the Superbowl was like.. OMFG THEY AREN"T NINJAS IN G I JOE!!!!11oneelveven==!!!111
Are you serious? Snake Eyes is only the biggest bad ass in the history of action figures. He is the Ninja, that word was made to define his awesomeness.
I can't wait for this movie, HUGE GI Joe fan and it looks right over the top XXX type special effects, which is exactly how it should be.

Wasn't Blizzard also a ninja? It's been about 20 years since I collected em so I'm a little rusty, but I seem to recall having a couple GI Joe ninjas.

I remember when I was a kid, I set up a war between my storm trooper action figures and my Cobra Soldier action figures, Nobody died, but they burnt the house down due to errant laser fire and my uncle owen and aunt beru were incinerated.
