Default Luck and Karma Based Threads...

Is there a rule against these threads? Is there a reason they always get locked? Threads like this: My personal apology for the first period seem to always get locked without a reason really given. I also made a thread a long time ago that was about not jinxing shutouts and it got locked plus i received -skill points. If these threads are frowned upon maybe that should be in the forum rules?

I for one am superstitious about Hockey as many players and fans are, and I think this kind of discussion should be allowed personally, and people who put no stock in superstition should just avoid these topics. Some people might find it stupid to have little rituals like, for example, putting an Iginla MacFarlane toy on top of their TV before a game, but not everyone is like that.

Just a question, sorry if this is the wrong place for it. Thanks in advance.

I figured it could probably have been put into the post game thread.

Well how do you have a discussion about something so wishy washy as superstition without it turning into a chat thread? You can't exactly debate superstition (unless you are debating the merits of superstition itself). And since this forum doesn't support chat threads (something that I completely agree with) that could be why they lock this stuff up. Just my guess.

That or talking about superstition is a superstition of one of the moderators. Probably Photon, he is very much into "new age" stuff like that.

You are welcome to be superstitious - I have my own little quirks but threads like that add nothing. Keep it in the game thread and it's fine.

Game thread/post game thread.... good for that type of "thought". It wasn't a topic in and of itself. Pretty simple.
