I guess Anaheim is intending to improve the roster. I wonder if Kreider really bounces back there. Only one bad season (on a team full of bad seasons), and while he is 34, he only has 2 years left on his 6.5M deal. I guess the owner wasn't joking about giving Verbeek the thumbs-up to spend to the cap.

A fifth-rounder and a B-level prospect is my guess, since they'd be eating all of Kreider's salary.

I'm guessing Zellweger and Sidorov for Kreider.

Serivalli saying the centerpiece is 20 year old D prospect Carey Terrance?

He will help with the PP. 50% of his points come on pp.

That makes sense, she's in the next season of 'Only Murders in the Building' so moving from California to New York for filming just seems sensible.

Servalli says Carey Terrance is the prospect.
https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/so...-kreider-trade
Quote:
The most recent discussions centered on Ducks prospect Carey Terrance, an upstate New York native and 2023 second-round pick, heading to the Rangers in a swap that would see the Ducks take on Kreider’s contract in-full. Kreider, 34, has two years remaining on his contract at $6.5 million per year. He was ranked No. 2 on Daily Faceoff’s most recent Trade Targets board.
Terrance, 20, saw his offensive output slow over the last two seasons in OHL Erie since being drafted at No. 59 overall. The two-way center finished this season with 20 goals and 39 points in 45 games for the Otters, but scored twice in seven games at the World Juniors, where he helped Team USA to a second consecutive gold medal. While the proposed return may not look like much on paper for Ranger fans, Kreider would mark the third difficult contract in a row (joining Jacob Trouba and Barclay Goodrow) that GM Chris Drury would have wiggled out from without having to retain dead space.

She'd complete Drury.

You’d think Conroy would be all over an upstate NY kid.

Looks like the Rangers will get basically nothing of value for a former 50-goal scorer. Another chapter in the book of waiting too long to trade aging veterans.

Well it's a bit different for the Rangers
They were in the ECF last year and looked like they were still going to be good. Then after 20 games this year Drury lost his mind, said he wanted to blow it up and started trading veterans and their captain for nothing.

If they move Kreider for nothing though that Rangers roster looks pretty ugly.
Pretty funny that the Canucks had their 2026 unprotected 1st and already moved it, that could easily be a lottery pick.

I would imagine they will be active in free agency.

For the Rangers, that frees up 6.5m in cap space.
My guess they are active in the trade market..

Good for both teams. Anaheim should flip him 50% RS and get something good.
Rangers can keep the young guys now and make a big move

The Pens have their pick.
Rangers get the cap space they will sign whichever free agent they want.
I think they will easily be able to flip K.Miller and Lafreniere if they so choose and could probably go out and sign Marner and Bennett if they wanted to
