Default Things to do in Victoria BC

My wifes company is taking their office to Victoria beginning of May. They are looking at something to do with the group on a free night. 10 people total all couples. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Opium dens in Chinatown.
But seriously there's lots to do, but would be hard to figure it out for that many people. Just go out for dinner, drink lots, and then people usually figure it out.

Bengal Room at the Empress if you're looking for a place to eat and have a casual drink. Great atmosphere in that room. If you're looking for nightlife, can't help you.

The Clubhouse for your dancing needs if your crowd is a middle aged crowd and if your night out is on a weekend. You'll find better food elsewhere.

If you have daylight hours, the urban kayaking tours are fun.

If you get out early enough, take a drive to the Sooke Potholes or French Beach

It has been many years since my last visit to Victoria but we were always dragged out to this place:

Lots of scooter rental options down there. It's a pretty sweet ride along the coast too.

this thread from about 6 months ago - some of it is outdated but hits most of the right ideas. I guess any information is good information. Lots of time to plan and Google-Fu what you want to do.

We ate at a place called Nautical Nellies - it was fantastic.

Would need a pretty strong tsunami for them to make it that far, considering BHP doesn't really have a shore.

I'm guessing you're referring to the rocks below Dallas Rd, but the park actually ends across the street from there.

To the OP, head down to Fisherman's Wharf if you get a chance. The weather should be great by then and hopefully not too many tourists by that point.

Don't forget to say hi to all of the Alberta homeless weather-refugees on our streets.

But seriously, if it's nice out:

1. Walk all around the inner harbour. From the tourism centre (Government/Humboldt) all the way around to Fisherman's Wharf and James Bay. Stop and see the street performers on the lower causeway, stop for drinks at the Flying Otter and/or the Batemen Centre, enjoy the best views of the city all the way around.

2. If you want a nice dinner, I'm not an expert. If you want some decent food, some drinks, and awesome views, have a late lunch/dinner on the patio at the Local (Wharf/Bastion Sq).

3. Depending on the time, go to Darcy's (just across from the Local) for live music and dancing, or to Fiamo (Yates/Waddington Alley) for some drinks and good late night ambiance (and some really good pizza).

Other options include kayaking, whale watching, taking the harbour ferry, Maritime Museum (better value than the Royal BC Museum), Legislature tours, horse-carriage tours, hop on hop off tours, or just poke around the Empress and have a drink at the Bengal Lounge.

Near the end of the night, Sticky Wicket (Douglas/Courtney) is a guaranteed hotspot (for all ages), Fiamo and the Mint (Douglas/Johnson) serve legit food til 2, and there are a number of places that serve crappy after hours food on Douglas.
