I have nothing to add other than that I met my wife on pof.
Stay patient, send lots of thoughtful messages, try all the sites, good things will happen.

I'd say beware of women with bad spelling/grammar.......I have seen ads for fitness singles a site that supposedly caters to active singles looking to get it on.......
Forgot about cougar life

I met my wife working at KFC. So did several of our friends and cousins. Who needs dating sites when you can go work at KFC?

A lot of the sites like zoosk drag you in with fake hot profiles. Beware.

some also share member profiles. I know sites like fling share their members with one for women seeking rich guys and one that is just supposed to be for friendship. So you can message someone and have no idea they are looking for something very different.

I met my wife on Lavalife about 10 years ago now (POF wasn't around then to my knowledge), but to be honest, she was a gem in a field of rocks, most girls seemed to be rather flakey. I would just try multiple sites, cast a wide net and you should find what you're looking for.

I met my wife on Lavalife eight years ago.
My younger co-worker is meeting girls off an app called Tinder and banging them all week long. I just get to hear his stories.

eHarmony has a lot of women anxious to settle down so avoid that site if that's not what you're looking for. As someone with limited dating experience, the few dates I went on were like sensory overload.
Your pictures mean more than what you write so if you're blessed with good looks, you'll get more response. A guy I hung out with for a while put a picture of himself with his shirt off and very little thought into his profile other than "let's party" and was bombarded with messages. Meanwhile, I take the time to create one and thoughtfully respond to women's profiles and never hear anything. It left a bitter taste in my mouth and I let my eHarmony account expire.
I've only briefly investigated the free sites but I like ones like OKCupid where they indicate how frequently a woman responds. I don't want to spend half an hour crafting a message to send to someone who replies "very selectively".
I haven't had much success but clearly it's becoming more and more common to hear of people finding a longtime partner online.

Was on POF for about 6 months-year and met a bunch of decent, but unimpressive girls. Then I met one who was impressive and she became a gf for 2 years and it was a decent relationship until it wasn't...
Then I tried out e-harmony shortly after that and only met one girl. She is now my wife. I'd say it was the best $100 I ever spent.

If any of the girls are a smoke show, make sure pylon hasn't had his way with them. It's only $6 per month to fish with dynamite.

Yeah, can see why you might be having problems meeting women.

I know of 3 friends who got married through Eharmony, that seems about the best one if your very serious about this.

Thor, why do they need online dating over there? You live in Iceland - land of smoking hot, dime-a-dozen, receptive models!

When I was single I used POF. Met a lot of girls, but nothing ended up serious. I think the longest I dated someone was 4 months. Tried OKcupid for a while and I found the only girls on there were the "quirky" type. Not for me.
